Fever star Kelsey Mitchell reacts to new head coach announcement
Kelsey Mitchell is off to Chicago as part of the Indiana Fever’s three-woman contingent for the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday. Joining her are her two star teammates, Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
Mitchell was voted into her fourth consecutive All-Star Game behind averages of 23.3 points on 49.8% shooting, 1.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The 5-foot-8 guard is also knocking down 2.7 triples per game on a 42.5% clip.
Mitchell has been the driving force for Indiana this season, leading the squad in scoring. Thanks in large part to her strong play, the Fever have entered the All-Star break with a 17-10 record and fifth in the standings.
Kelsey Mitchell reacts to Winton Woods head coach announcement
Mitchell was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. To this day, she keeps close ties with the local basketball community. On Thursday, the Fever star took to social media to share her reaction to a recent coaching change in the city.
Mitchell shared a post from Rassan Mack about his new role at Winton Woods High School. From being the head coach of the junior varsity girls basketball team, Mack has now been named the head coach of the girls flag football team.
Mitchell had a one-word reaction to the news.
“DESERVING,” she wrote in an Instagram story, tagging Mack.

As for Mitchell, she will be suiting up for Team Coop on Saturday at the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game. She will go up against Clark and Boston, who are both on Team Spoon.
The three will reunite with their teammates after the All-Star festivities in Chicago. Indiana’s next game is on Tuesday at home against the Seattle Storm.
