Former Sapphire Flame Circle Member Reaches Out

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I’m not very active on social media at all– I treasure my personal time too much! But I do maintain some contacts from my past and present using Facebook which I check maybe 3 or 4 times a week on average now. I’m friends with several former Circle members from back when I was the Priestess of a Neopagan/Wiccan circle in the late ’90s to late ’00s– basically all the older, less drama-prone members are still friends with me, although we don’t see one another in person anymore, but rather a video meeting here or a phone call there every few years. Nothing much, but they were in “good-standing” with me when they moved or moved on after years of being in my group, so we’re nominally still in contact to some extent.

An older redhead, whom I’ll call “Lucille”, is nearly 20 years older than myself and college educated and yet she had no issues with me teaching her and liked the way I ran things back then, and she only left our circle when she moved to Florida to pursue a degree in exotic bird medicine. Last I heard, she was married to her 4th husband and selling Airstream trailers around Portland, Oregon.

She reached out to me on Facebook because she had just started her 4th divorce… she caught her husband cheating on her and she just wanted to… I don’t know… renew her friendship with me? She was wondering if she could come for a visit in October, and I gave her an enthusiastic yes! I wanted to visit her last summer, but Reese’s illness made transportation an issue so it didn’t happen– but I let Luci know that at Heron Hold, we have a guest bedroom and bath that she was welcome to use when she came (she was going to stay at a near-by motel, but that’s silly!)

So, now she’s coming the weekend before Sowin/Halloween to hang out, drink some wine, and catch up on nearly 20 years! It’s been a long time! We’ve written emails some, and seen one another’s Facebook posts, but that’s pretty much it in all this time. She said she was tired of always putting friends last for husbands, when the friends are more loyal and last longer! LOL! Sad but too often true.

Cat was happy to accommodate me, and so our plans are set! I’m looking forward to seeing Luci again after so long. She was always incredibly sincere, honest, fair, and fun! I could use more of that right about now!
