A Strange Vascular Mystery Moves From Rumor To Recorded Data

Ever since embalmers began pulling long, rubbery white cords from arteries in 2021, one question has refused to go away: What in the world are these things?

Seasoned professionals — men and women who have worked on thousands of bodies — insist they had never seen anything like them before. These were not the usual soft, dark “chicken fat” clots sometimes found after death. Instead, they were pale, elastic ropes, firm enough to hold their shape — almost like casts molded from the inside of blood vessels themselves.

Eventually, independent researchers in New Zealand began to investigate. Supported by New Zealand Doctors Speaking Out With Science (NZDSOS), a research team launched a formal inquiry into what they now call “anomalous intravascular casts” (AICs).”

First Paper: Mapping a New Pathology

To begin with, researchers examined the basic structure of these casts. What are they made of? How do they look under a microscope?

What they found was striking.

These casts are described as firm, rubber-elastic strands that can run the full length of a vessel, branching like ghostly replicas of the body’s own artery network. Some measured up to 25 centimeters long.

Under microscopic analysis, they revealed layered fibrin with distinctive “Lines of Zahn.” That detail matters. Lines of Zahn are ripple-like patterns that form only when blood is flowing under pressure. They are a classic marker of clots that form during life, not after death.

So right away, this challenges the idea that these are simple post-mortem artifacts.

Furthermore, histology showed something else unusual: these casts were largely devoid of intact red blood cells and platelets. Typical clots look like dark, jelly-like masses packed with cells. These white casts did not.

They appeared almost skeletal by comparison.

Clots That Likely Formed Before Death

Because Lines of Zahn signal active blood flow, their presence strongly suggests these structures developed while circulation was still underway.

That raises an uncomfortable implication: these casts may have contributed to illness — or even death — by obstructing vessels in vital areas.

Instead of soft sludge forming at the end of life, researchers argue we may be looking at something that formed in living vessels, under real physiological stress.

That’s a very different story.

Second Paper: A Bizarre Chemical Fingerprint

If the first study focused on shape and structure, the second drilled into chemistry.

Researchers performed elemental analysis — essentially asking: what are these made of at a molecular level?

Ordinarily, a fibrin-rich clot should display a protein-heavy chemical profile. Proteins contain sulfur in characteristic amounts. But these casts were markedly depleted in sulfur and relatively enriched in phosphorus.

That’s not what a standard fibrin clot looks like.

In plain language, their chemistry didn’t match the textbook.

Not Just a Clot — But Something Hybrid

That sulfur-low, phosphorus-high pattern suggests something more complex than a simple protein matrix.

Instead, researchers propose these casts may represent a hybrid material — part organic, part inorganic — forming within blood vessels.

Imagine the bloodstream pouring a kind of biological cement into its own plumbing. Rather than forming a clot the body can easily dissolve, it hardens into a stubborn cast.

That image is hard to shake.

Third Paper: The Protein Imbalance and “Undissolvable” Clots

Finally, the third paper examined protein architecture in more detail.

Normal fibrinogen contains three chains — alpha, beta, and gamma — in balanced proportions. In these casts, that balance was significantly distorted.

Because when something new shows up in the bloodstream — and refuses to dissolve — pretending it isn’t there… won’t make it disappear.

Bottom line: We’ve been lied to. And now, finally, some mainstream and accredited sources are pointing this out.
