What One Oncologist Says He’s Watching Happen to Cancer Patients Since the COVID Boosters

That’s more or less what Professor Angus Dalgleish has been doing… except his herd is made up of cancer patients, and the feed in question is the COVID mRNA vaccine.
Dalgleish, a working oncologist and professor emeritus at City St. George’s, University of London, sat before a U.S. Senate subcommittee this past June and laid out patterns he says he’s watched unfold inside his own clinics for years.
Naturally, what he said stirred up a hornet’s nest.
So let’s walk through his argument, piece by piece, and look at why he believes the people in power would rather look the other way than sit down and listen.
The Spike Protein Problem They Didn’t Want You to Hear About

First off, Dalgleish points to something he and a colleague caught early on. Working alongside biophysicist Birger Sørensen, he says they ran the spike protein’s genetic sequence through a standard lab tool called a BLAST analysis — basically a giant game of molecular snap, matching sequences to find out what looks alike.
What came back, he claims, floored him.
Roughly 80 percent of that spike protein was a near match to normal, healthy human tissue. That’s the kind of red flag you’d expect to shut a project down before it ever left the barn. Instead, he says, it got rolled out to billions of people worldwide and called the gold standard.
And once your immune system starts making antibodies against something that looks that much like your own body, it doesn’t just stop at the intended target. It goes after your own tissue too — the same way a riled-up guard dog, wound tight enough, will eventually turn on the very family it’s meant to protect.
The Question Nobody in That Hearing Room Wanted to Answer
That guard-dog problem, Dalgleish argues, is exactly why the Senate hearing mattered so much. Sitting across from the lawmakers was Dr. Julie Gralow, chief medical officer of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, who told the panel she represents 50,000 doctors and that, simply put, they aren’t seeing the pattern Dalgleish describes.
Well, of course they don’t see it, he counters, if nobody’s actively looking for it.
To be fair, Gralow’s testimony raises a real point worth chewing on: cancer usually takes years to develop, not weeks, and RNA breaks down fast enough in the body that sudden tumors don’t square easily with the timeline. That’s a legitimate counter-argument, and honest folks ought to sit with it for a minute.
Still, when a senator asked her a basic question about what’s actually in the shot, Dalgleish says she couldn’t give a straight answer — something he figures a first-year biology student should be able to manage. That stumble, fair or not, is what got this whole debate rolling again in earnest.
Turbo Cancers and a Pattern That Doesn’t Fit the Old Textbooks
Moving from the hearing room back to the exam room, Dalgleish says he’s watched cancers behave in ways that flat-out don’t match anything he learned in medical school. He calls it hyperprogression — the sudden, ferocious return of cancers that had been sitting quiet in remission.
Breast, prostate, pancreatic, lymphoma, gallbladder, glioma, bladder — he’s tallied them all. Plus a string of acute myeloid leukemia cases where patients died within weeks.
That’s a gut-punch timeline by any measure.
Naturally, the next question is what’s driving it — and that’s where his theory gets more specific and more unsettling.
Two Mechanisms. One Very Bad Outcome.
As Dalgleish tells it, there are two separate things going wrong at once. The first involves T-cells, the immune system’s patrol officers that normally keep dormant cancer cells locked down and quiet. A 2022 study published in Frontiers in Oncology found evidence of exhausted lymphocytes in cancer patients after their third booster dose — meaning those patrol officers were being worn down right when they were needed most. If something suppresses them further, cancers held in check can wake right back up and run wild.
The second mechanism is stranger still. He points to molecular biologist Wafik El-Deiry, director of the Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, whose 2024 research suggests the spike protein can interfere with tumor-suppressor genes like p53 without even directly binding them — simply by sitting nearby and scrambling the signal.
Picture a fence line that looks perfectly intact from a distance, but the wire’s been quietly cut somewhere out of sight down the line. The cattle wander right through before you ever notice they’re knee-deep in the neighbor’s corn.
That’s the quiet, invisible failure Dalgleish believes is playing out inside the body’s own cancer defenses.
Rare Tumors Showing Up Where They Shouldn’t
Here’s what really shook him, by his own account. When Dalgleish first dug into cancer data coming out of Japan, he expected to find the usual suspects tied to T-cell suppression — mainly lymphomas. Instead, he says he found the entire spectrum.
Lung, breast, colorectal, pancreatic, ovarian — plus rare tumors that most doctors never see across an entire career. Cancers of the thyroid, salivary glands, and other endocrine tissue started showing up in the numbers like they’d never shown up before.
A general practitioner might see one parotid gland cancer in a whole lifetime of practice, if that. So when several start showing up in a short window, each case gets written off as a fluke rather than tallied up into a pattern.
That, Dalgleish says, is exactly the blind spot he’s most worried about — not the individual cases themselves, but the stubborn habit of never connecting the dots between them.
A Warning He Already Gave Once, Decades Ago
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Dalgleish says he watched this kind of red flag get waved off. Decades earlier, he and Sørensen were deep in HIV vaccine research and reached the same conclusion through the same kind of analysis: never use a whole viral envelope in a vaccine, because it drags along too many human-resembling markers for the immune system to handle safely.
Their team pitched a narrower, safer approach for more than twenty years. They applied for research funding three separate times and got turned down every single time, dismissed as merely “a good plan B.”
Meanwhile, he claims, several major HIV vaccine trials using the broader approach were quietly halted after participants ended up with more infections than the placebo group. If that history holds up to scrutiny, it’s easy to understand why Dalgleish sees the spike protein homology issue as déjà vu rather than a fresh surprise.
He’s seen this movie before, and he didn’t much like the ending.
The Autoimmune Fallout Landing Closer to Home
Beyond cancer, Dalgleish points to something that hits closer to home for a whole lot of families: autoimmune disease. Because the spike protein so closely resembles our own tissue, he argues the resulting antibodies don’t stop at fighting the virus — they turn on the joints, the thyroid, and the gut lining too, wherever the resemblance runs deepest.
Safety databases, he notes, list well over a hundred autoimmune conditions flagged as possible side effects, mild in some cases and truly severe in others. That’s not a short list by any stretch.
On top of that come the strokes, the months-long hospital stays, and the myocarditis cases in young people that doctors still tend to wave off as rare and mild. Dalgleish says the scarring shows up clearly on MRI scans years later, long after everyone else has moved on and forgotten about it.
Mild myocarditis, he likes to say, is a bit like a mild parachute failure — technically survivable, but you’d be a fool to call it no big deal.
What All This Means Out Here on the Homestead
To be fair, mainstream oncology groups — including ASCO — still maintain there’s no proven causal link, leaning on the long timelines cancer normally follows as reason for real caution before drawing conclusions. That pushback is worth knowing about, even if you don’t fully buy the reasoning.
Science doesn’t settle overnight, and that cuts both ways.
Either way, the lesson for those of us living close to the land isn’t about picking a side in a Senate chamber. It’s the same principle we already live by every single day out here: watch your own herd, trust your own eyes, and don’t wait on permission from some office building before asking hard questions about what’s going into your family’s bodies.
