Four weeks…

The 28th of October, 2025. The FedGov has been shut down for four weeks. Twenty-eight days.

As we all know, the results are catastrophic. The Fifty States have fallen into anarchy and chaos. Jerusalem in AD 70 and Berlin in AD 1945 are pale fore-shadows of New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and DC. The Germanies in the Thirty Years’ War fared better than the Fifty States.

Millions have starved (or poisoned) to death or are nearly dead: without SNAP, wiothout the FDA, without farm subsidies, imports, and so much more, the food is lost.

Hundreds of airliners have fallen from the sky, collided in midair, gotten lost and disappeared. (Ignore those rumors that some were actually carrying American celebrities fearful of the death squads to refuge in Europe and Asia.)

Bridges and overpasses have collapsed. The electrical grid has failed: communications satellites have fallen from orbit, radio stations have gone silent, and television stations have gone dark. The internet is fragmenting.

The schools are closed due to lack of federal funding; the student bodies roam the streets in packs. The unpaid teachers fight over the crumbs of food left in school cafeterias without USDA food subsidies.

Horrifically, hundreds of thousands have died from lack of medical treatment and medication. Millions more (especially immigrants and people of color) are on the verge of death due to lack of health care.

Federalized National Guard troops and their ICE political officers, paid for by “donations” from The Donald’s billionaire buddies, are rounding up Blue State and City governors, legislatures, mayors, and councils and putting them into stadiums turned into ad hoc concentration camps. While recruiting police to join ICE and be free from restraints and review for whatever abuse, killing, and shakedowns they want.

Our military installations at home are emptying out as military personnel and their families flee, penniless, pursued by creditors and unable to find, let alone buy, food. Some military personnel, with their equipment, have hired on in Ukraine or Russia. (Some hired on with NATO countries: they did not think it through about where NATO was getting its money with DC off-line.)

Border crossers are swarming, with more and more fleeing the chaos of civilizational collapse. The exceptions are the mass movements of units of armed men and vehicles, anxious for loot before the mobs surging in the cities destroy it all. Some dealers are upset that the street price of drugs is falling since supply is surging without interdiction and it is a buyers’ market.

A large part of Congress cheered and applauded at the delightful violin recital given by The Donald in the ruins of the East Wing, though probably most of them were forced to be there, based on the zipties around their wrists and ankles and the duct tape across their faces. (Ignore the mainstream media claims that many of the cheers were screams of pain from “aides” ripping off the tape.)

The federal highways are closed (mostly) except the few where IRS and ICE agents are holding up cars and trucks. There are rumors of starvation, and even cannibalism in many small towns and rural areas. Farmers and ranchers (unable to get their federal subsidies) are unable to buy the very food they are growing.

America, like Rome and Russia before it, has fallen. Democracy, like the Republic before it, has died.

Americans had traded liberty for a false security. Finis.
