Theft by government – continues today

It is well known, and even taught in government-run, tax-funded schools, that European nobility and royalty made and maintained their wealth by stealing. Land, labor, the products of the land, and more. But those in government-ruined, theft-funded schools are told that today, governments no longer do that. After all, they are “of the people, for the people, and by the people.” We worship democracy.

But all governments, at least those which are mandatory and instituted by fallible men, are kleptocracies to some (generally large) degree. Taxes, licenses and fees, and regulatory demands are just a part of it. Stealing land is perhaps far bigger.

NPS threatens ranchers and farmers ·

The National Park Service, an agency of the federal government, has threatened the livelihood of ranchers and farmers. For over a century, Nevada ranchers have held senior water rights, which are protected under Nevada law and upheld by nearly a century of legal precedent.

However, the NPS is dissipating, obstructing, and even redirecting the water flow for their own use. Further, when the ranchers have attempted to fix the obstructions and maintain their own water infrastructures, as they have a right to do under their decreed water rights, the government has threatened the ranchers with legal action.

MSLF has partnered with Baker Ranches to bring this grave issue to the forefront. We intend to hold the National Park Service accountable for attempting to trample the historic rights of American citizens.

MSLF plays the “be nice” game that TPOL does not. MSLF wants us to believe that petitions and legal action can ensure that governmental “power remains checked, preserving liberty for all.” But we know that is at best, a nice try, and likely to fail.

The truth is that the FedGov, State governments, local governments, and “non-governmental organizations” supported (and usually sponsored and empowered) by government steal constantly. Not just water, and not just land.

It isn’t just the NPS, and they don’t do it on their own. They have the backing of the DOJ, the courts, and the White House in stealing citizens and companies and foreigners time and time again. We don’t know the first time the National Park Service, for example, stole land from a lot of people, but we know that the NPS did so, almost a century ago in the 1930s when the Roosevelt regime stole land from thousands of people in Tennessee to create the Great Smokies National Park. Land and water has been commonly taken (and often without “just compensation” (whatever the Constitution states) by the NPS and other agencies for virtually as long as there has been a United States and a FedGov.

Especially in the West, government agencies are constantly stealing (“claiming” is a weasel word for it) surface and ground water, often from families and companies who have owned the water rights (in accordance with traditional English common and American common law, and more) for a century or more. And every year, new laws and regulations, and twisted interpretations of those laws and regulations, are used to justify the theft.

The same thing can be said about land: especially but not just as rights-of-way or forced easements of land for roads, railroads, pipelines, and even flight paths. Why? Because they can, and because “democracy” says that the elected representatives of the supposed majority of the people are exempt from the simple idea that theft is wrong. And everyday Americans let them get away with it.
