I Don't Apologise for Writing in Support of President Donald Trump
By Collen Makumbirofa
Let me be clear from the outset: I will not apologise for writing this. Not today. Not ever.
I am a Zimbabwean— someone who has lived under the suffocating weight of tyranny, witnessed the destruction that weak and corrupt leadership brings, and understands, perhaps more deeply than most, what genuine leadership looks like. From where I stand, President Donald Trump is a good leader, one whom millions of Americans should continue to support without hesitation. And I will go further — the world, too, should support him.
The Crime of Being Truthful
Donald Trump is forthright. He says what he means and means what he says. In a world drowning in political doublespeak and carefully managed deception, that quality is rare — and apparently unforgivable.
Trump is not hated because he is dangerous. He is hated because he is truthful and honest. His enemies are not opponents of his policies — they are opponents of plain-speaking itself. They are opponents of the idea that a leader should tell the people the truth, however uncomfortable.
The haters of Trump are, at their core, haters of life and freedom of conscience and speech. They do not want anyone ideologically opposed to them to speak. Their agenda is suppression — the silencing of dissenting voices, the crushing of alternative thought. They dress it up in sophisticated language, but the goal is simple: no one may disagree with them.
That is not democracy. That is soft tyranny.
On Church, State, and the Soul of America
There is a deliberate misreading of American history that has done enormous damage to that great nation. The American Church and State must not be separated — except administratively. The founding fathers never intended to build a godless republic. They intended to build a nation where no single denomination would dominate government — but where the moral and spiritual foundations of Christian faith would remain the bedrock of national life.
The religion of the Church must be the religion of the State in its values, its ethics, its conscience. That is what the founding fathers of America wanted. To strip that away is not progress — it is erasure.
And what has that erasure produced? Bibles banned. Prayers silenced in public schools. Yet in those same schools, sexual education and pornograph is being promoted to young children. This is not enlightenment. This is moral inversion — and it was wrong. It remains wrong.
Standing With the Persecuted
One of the most overlooked chapters of Trump’s leadership is his intervention on behalf of Nigerian Christians who were being massacred by Islamist extremists. While the world looked away, Trump’s administration acted. This is what American strength looks like when properly directed — not in endless foreign wars for oil or geopolitical chess, but in helping the persecuted and the oppressed.
That is a superpower worthy of the name.
On Gender, Sport, and Common Sense
Trump was right to reject the ideology of a third gender. This is not hatred. This is biology, theology, and plain reason standing together.
God created two genders — man and woman. The declaration is ancient, universal, and written into the very fabric of human existence. There is no third gender. There is no need for three public bathrooms. And there is absolutely no justification for men competing against women in sport. It is not progressive. It is not compassionate. It is simply wrong — and yes, it is deeply strange.
To say so should not require courage. That it now does tells us everything about how far the conversation has drifted from reality.
Immigration, Integration, and the Rule of Law
America is a nation of immigrants — and that is a beautiful thing. But immigration without integration is not diversity; it is fragmentation. Immigrants who refuse to integrate, who carry with them the desire to impose Sharia law on a constitutional republic, are not seeking a new home — they are seeking a new territory.
No Sharia law in America. The principle is simple: an immigrant who wants to live under Sharia law must return to a country where that system governs. America has a constitution. That constitution is non-negotiable.
The Economic Gospel of Hard Work
America did not become the world’s greatest economic superpower by accident. It was built on Puritan economics — a fierce, faith-driven work ethic that saw labour as worship and discipline as virtue. Capitalism, entrepreneurship, and less government interference gave individuals the freedom to build, create, and innovate.
That combination turned a young republic into a colossus. And those principles still work — wherever they are honestly applied.
A Word From Zimbabwe
I wish my country would follow in the footsteps of the United States — not blindly, but purposefully. Our success as a nation depends on embracing freedom, rule of law, and the economic principles that transformed America from a colonial outpost into a beacon of possibility.
We have seen what happens when leaders abandon those principles. We are living it.
That is why, when I see a leader like Trump — imperfect, combative, but honest and unafraid — I recognise something valuable. Something worth defending.
In Closing
May God protect President Donald Trump.
God Bless America.
