In this 21 May 2025 video of Change Agents Andy Stumpf, journalist Iona Craig shares her experience reporting from Yemen, one of the world’s most complex and dangerous conflict zones. With over a decade covering the Middle East, Iona offers firsthand insight into the origins and dynamics of the Houthi movement, the challenges of war reporting, and the impact of U.S. involvement in the conflict. She discusses the cultural and political nuances often overlooked in international coverage and advocates for locally led solutions rather than foreign military intervention.

I find your clothing quite on usual. I find your attitude towards him and quite unusual. The respect for women and sex with young children is so common thing in Yemen. They think it’s okay meaning the hooties to attack ships in open Waters. They need to be stopped. Peacefully would be a good thing but sometimes you have to prove you have a bigger bat. Very curious as to why you would stay in Yemen with the situation the way it is. Especially being a woman.
