Russian officials said Ukrainian drones struck a crowded New Year celebration in the village of Khorly in the Kherson region, killing and injuring civilians, including children, after midnight. Uncut footage released by authorities showed charred ruins of a cafe and hotel complex where families had gathered, with officials describing the attack as deliberate and timed to coincide with holiday celebrations. Kyiv has not commented on the incident, while Moscow accused Ukraine of targeting civilians and criticised Western governments for remaining silent as rescue operations continued and the wounded were transferred to hospitals in Crimea.
