Trump, Venezuela, and a Dangerous Precedent

When Donald Trump was running for president, the word ‘dictator’ was uttered around in social media and the corporate news media. During then, the question was asked, where was that talking point coming from about him being a dictator? What President Trump did in Venezuela, had to be an agenda that was preplanned by the elite class before he became president, and his psychological profile along with his image was used to fulfil the optics of someone that was already predictable?

When President Trump says, ‘America First’, it is now obvious that he’s not talking about the ordinary American people, but is talking about and working for the elite class, the billionaire class, foreign agents and special interest lobbies.

All those Republicans and Democrats who say, “we support the US constitution”, if they’re not speaking out against what has happened in Venezuela, i.e., the kidnapping of a foreign president, they’re all liars about supporting the US constitution.

Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said that the US operation that resulted in the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro carried a “Zionist tint” to it.

Scott Ritter, January 3, 2026 appeared on Judging Freedom – Napolitano: The topic is about the United States President Donald Trump kidnapping an elected leader of a sovereign country, breaking international law. – Ritter: “… First of all, the president isn’t going to have a fact-based discussion with the American people. … The president is in the business of shaping perceptions. … He’s going to spin this as a great win America national security because we have eliminated one of the main sources of the illegal flow of narcotics to the United States. How the CIA probably paid hundreds of millions of dollars directly or indirectly to the political elite, including the military and security forces of Venezuela to step aside and let us do this staged event. This was a staged event; you don’t go in with two [hundred] troops of Delta Force into a hostile capital city and launch an assault of this nature unless everything was cleared in advance. … They went in … it’s a permissive environment, they got their made for TV moment … and Donald Trump is going to build on that. … I think that’s what you’re going to see over the course of the next several months, [we have] exploited both the sanctions and the possibility of lifting sanctions, and the reality of … the money that is attached to the flow of oil and we bought out the economic and political elite of Venezuela, including those who just a week ago saying that they’re standing with Maduro for life. Apparently, they have a price and that price was paid. …” – Napolitano: “The president claimed that this was the arrest of a fugitive from justice. The charges against him are grossly exaggerated. There is no mention of fentanyl what-so-ever in the indictment against him. Then one of the charges against him is the possession of a weapon in violation of the United States Fire Arms Act of 1934, which has since been found unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. … How can someone in Caracas Venezuela possessing a weapon [that is] lawful in Caracas Venezuela, they indicted for violating American federal law? This is just nonsense. You’re right, that Donald Trump will try to sell [this] to the American people. This is not a law enforcement event. This is an attack and takeover of a government of a foreign country …” – Ritter: “… It gets even better that this, because this whole indictment, there is reference to … the ‘Cartel de los Soles’ (Cartel of the Sons). That was a CIA front … so the interesting part during this trial is when Maduro start demanding access to the CIA records … This isn’t something that the Venezuelan government did. This is a CIA narco-front that was created by the CIA in 1989. This case should be dismissed. Maybe that’s what will happen and they will allow Maduro to go. … The bottom line is, this is not about the rule of law. … …

The US District Judge Alvin Hellerstein, a Clinton appointee based in Manhattan, is overseeing Maduro’s arraignment Monday and is likely to preside over the trial of the ousted president. The judge is known to operate a bit differently.

“I must unequivocally condemn and reject this latest American oil adventure… even at the cost that my clear and consistent stance may temporarily worsen Slovak-American relations,” the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said in a statement on Monday, accusing Washington [DC] of flouting the law. Highlighting that the “Great powers today literally do whatever they want. They have completely erased the existence of international law and the necessity of complying with it.” Fico described Maduro’s seizure as “kidnapping,” and said that even the UN Security Council (UNSC) appeared powerless to respond. Further adding that “The UN is on its knees. Without reform and a real strengthening of its powers, the UNSC is completely toothless,” he said. “We can only watch in disbelief as American elite units kidnap the president of a sovereign country and the US announces it will rule over 30 million Venezuelans.”
