US forces seized a Russian oil tanker

BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | January 7, 2026: The neocons are getting out of control. – American military forces are attempting to board a Russian-flagged oil tanker sailing in the North Atlantic. Shortly after, the United States European Command announced that the Marinera tanker has been seized by American troops based on a warrant issued by a US federal court. The capture of the ship was conducted jointly by the US Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of War.

The Marinera tanker was previously named Bella 1, under Russian protection is reportedly approaching Venezuela before the New Year when the US coastguard tried to detain it in the Caribbean Sea.

The ship’s crew declined to let the American officers aboard and changed course, heading towards the Atlantic. The tanker was then followed by a US warship and aircraft from NATO countries ever since. 

“The vessel was seized in the North Atlantic pursuant to a warrant issued by a U.S. federal court after being tracked by USCGC Munro,” the news is reporting.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has demanded that the United States ensure humane and dignified treatment of Russian citizens on the Mariner tanker and respect their rights and interests. Russian Senator Andrei Klishas called for “a little bit of time” to address what he considered to be US abuses. And the First Deputy Head of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee Alexei Zhuravlev said that the US should get a military response to the situation around the “Mariners”. He further added saying, “Attack with torpedoes, sink a couple of American coast guard patrol boats — they normally protect their coast several thousand kilometers away from it. — I think the US, which is in a kind of euphoria of impunity after the special operation in Venezuela, can only be stopped now with such a slap in the face”. And the speculation is, that Moscow could attempt to resolve the issue peacefully, in the space of public onlookers. And that means when the answer is given, the public will not recognize the signature. – The US has approximately 15,000 troops on standby in Puerto Rico for Venezuela. Maybe they will be rerouted for rescue missions?)
