U.S. Bombs Iranian Bridges and a Railway - Fmr. CIA Larry Johnson (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

This is a 16 July 2026 published video from host Mario Nawfal who talks with Larry Johnson.

The United States has launched intensive airstrikes targeting Iran’s critical infrastructure, a development heavily analyzed by commentators like former CIA analyst Larry Johnson. Amidst a rapidly escalating six-day conflict between the U.S. and Iran, American forces have struck high-value logistics and civilian transport hubs in southern and southeastern Iran to disrupt the regime’s distribution networks.

U.S. forces successfully bombed the critical, strategic Bandar Abbas–Shiraz bridge. It serves as the primary land artery connecting Iran’s largest commercial port (Bandar Abbas) to the interior of the country. A direct strike was leveled against a major regional railway junction node, paralyzing the train network used to move goods and military assets. U.S. fighter jets executed a missile attack on the Iranshahr airport. Local sources reported at least three powerful explosions that severely damaged the facility.

This aggressive shift follows orders from President Donald Trump threatening Iran’s civilian infrastructure if the regime continues firing on regional targets and civilians. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has pushed strikes further north and targeted positions around the Hormuz Islands. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has retaliated by targeting U.S. military facilities and assets across Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan using drone and missile fire.

Johnson has remained highly critical of Washington’s official narratives. He has warned that the administration’s actions may be masking broader operational goals—such as targeting hardened military and nuclear facilities—while forcing a volatile diplomatic dynamic where the U.S. may ultimately have to rely on third-party regional mediators.

July 17, Clash Report: Germany’s Chancellor Merz: Russia threatens our security. The People’s Republic of China challenges our economy. The transatlantic partnership can no longer be taken for granted.
    ___________

    ◇ The Looming Shadow (Russia)

The Concept: Russia is cast as an active, encroaching physical danger.
The Mechanics: By treating “security” as a fragile structure or a territory under siege, the imagery evokes an external force hammering at the gates, demanding a defensive shield.

    ◇ The Economic Arena (China)

The Concept: Global commerce is framed as a direct, head-to-head athletic or combat trial.
The Mechanics: China is not a partner in a marketplace, but an opponent stepping into the ring, forcing an economic wrestling match that tests the physical strength and endurance of the nation.

◇ The Fraying Lifeline (The Transatlantic Partnership)

The Concept: An alliance is treated as a physical object or a natural law that has lost its gravity.

The Mechanics: What was once a solid bedrock or a guaranteed safety net is now a dissolving foundation, forcing the nation to stand on its own two feet without an automatic anchor.

    ____________

    ◇ Threat on the Horizon

Russia is cast as an active, physical storm front. It is an external pressure pushing against the structural walls of the European house. This imagery evokes a shield under strain, transforming a political entity into a direct, localized force of nature that forces Germany into a defensive posture.

    ◇ The Economic Arena

The People’s Republic of China is framed as a rival gladiator in a marketplace arena. It is not an enemy destroying territory, but a competitor draining vital energy and shifting the ground underneath the nation’s industry. This language treats global trade as a high-stakes wrestling match where Germany must fight to keep its footing and protect its daily bread.

    ◇ The Cracking Bridge

The transatlantic partnership is pictured as an aging, weathered bridge. For decades, this structure allowed safe, effortless passage between continents. Now, the foundation is shifting, and the concrete is showing wear. The speaker warns that the path is no longer solid, forcing travelers to test every step rather than crossing blindly.

    ◇ The Fragile Sanctuary

Taken together, the words paint Germany as a home facing a triple assault. The weather is turning violent on one side, the foundation of the local market is shaking, and the main supply route to the outside world is fracturing. The leader is sounding an alarm, telling the household that the old walls can no longer keep out the changing climate.

Germany’s Chancellor Merz: Emmanuel Macron will not be able to be the next President of France, but I assume that whoever succeeds him will also be guided by what is right and necessary for the interests of our countries.
From Germany’s perspective, I can only say this: we will continue to do everything we can to make our cooperation with our French neighbor as close, as deep, and as trusting as possible—regardless of how the French people vote.
That applies both to the Élysée Palace and to the National Assembly.
The German hand will always remain extended toward deeper and trusting cooperation with France, regardless of how the voters in our two countries decide.
    ___________

    ◇ The Physicality of Statecraft

The Guided Traveler: The next French leader is depicted as an individual walking a path where “what is right and necessary” acts as an internal compass or a road map, ensuring they do not stray from established bilateral directions.

The Unshakable Foundation: The cooperation between the two nations is framed as a physical structure that requires continuous building, deepening, and anchoring, remaining unaffected by the shifting winds of democratic elections.

The Extended Hand: Germany is personified as a single body offering an open, reaching hand across a physical border, signaling a permanent gesture of friendship and invitation that remains frozen in place regardless of domestic political…

    changes.

The Shared Destination: The “interests of our countries” serve as a common horizon line toward which both distinct national entities are expected to march in tandem, regardless of who is leading the procession.

◇ The Dynamics of Political Continuity

The Institutional Containers: The “Élysée Palace” and the “National Assembly” are used as architectural vessels that hold political power, implying that Germany interacts with the enduring physical structures of French democracy rather than the temporary individuals inside them.

The Democratic Weather: Voter decisions are treated like unpredictable weather patterns or natural elements. The political architecture is built to withstand these external forces, ensuring the core relationship remains dry and intact.

The Eternal Neighbor: France is cast not just as a political entity, but as a permanent fixture of geography—a literal “neighbor” sharing a porch, which necessitates a permanent, face-to-face relationship that cannot be moved or ignored.
