Scott Ritter: Trump Admits Iran War Hurt Republicans & Hints at 'Heavy Hit' on Iran (Video)
In this 4 November 2026 published video, host Nima R. Alkhorshid talks with Scott Ritter who states that President Donald Trump has acknowledged that the ongoing 2026 war in Iran negatively impacted Republican performance in the recent midterm elections. Additionally, Ritter notes that Trump has hinted at a potential “heavy hit” or intensified military action targeting Iran as the administration navigates the post-election landscape.
In public remarks following the election, Donald Trump admitted that the conflict with Iran played a role in Republican losses at the polls. Despite acknowledging the political toll, Ritter highlights that Trump’s rhetoric signals a potential escalation or severe military strike (“heavy hit”) against Iranian targets rather than an immediate cessation of hostilities. The administration’s underlying objectives for the 2026 war have shifted throughout the conflict. Documented rationales include preempting threats to U.S. assets, degrading Iran’s missile infrastructure, and responding to regional dynamics involving Israel.
