The Constitution is smarter than Chip Roy’s beard. Now if only Chip Roy could be smarter than his beard. But the Constitution forbids both! The Constitution forbids a State religion! So the Muslims are wrong to want a State religion, and Chip Roy is wrong to want a State religion. Let the schools teach Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Let the parents teach their children religious beliefs. No State religion, and if Roy can’t get it, no Chip Roy as an elected official.
True, our Constitution doesn’t authorize any government to exert any control or any influence what are now called “public schools”. Schools should operate in the free market system with parents choosing which one their child should attend.
