Jesus is the only way, that is how you get out of the cycle.
In talking about reincarnation of a person, you have to define what constitutes a person, or at least what aspect(s) you claim are being reincarnated. If reincarnation is the modus operandi of the universe, there is a huge lack of testimony from those who have been there and done that. I don’t necessarily doubt the experiences that the overwhelming minority of people report about past life experiences, past life post traumatic stress, and past life desires or revulsion. But, I believe these experiences and memories may be spontaneous psychic connections that occur seemingly at random or by some unknown link. Unknowingly psychically tapping into someone else’s experiences could easily be confused as tapping into your own experience of a past life. In a certain sense, there may be a symmetry there. Psychically shared experience may be a kind of overlap between beings depending on how you define a being. But so little survives between supposed past lives, and there is so little continuity of memory, that the traditional notion of reincarnation is very erroneous imho. If you say the soul is preserved across multiple lives, then you have to concretely define the term soul. Also, why should a person suffer bad karma for misdeeds of a supposed past life of which there is no memory? Why should someone who has been unusually loving and ethical in a past life have to start over from scratch in the next life where they lose all progress and memories of who they are and want to be?
It makes more sense to me and what I see in myself and others, that mankind is a fallen race as described in the bible. No matter how many times a person could theoretically reincarnate into human form, the human form is a dead end because humans cannot escape the sinful nature no matter how hard they try or desire. One life as a human equals a damned degenerate soul that would persist across endless theoretical reincarnations.
The way to escape is to believe in Jesus whose death, burial, and resurrection paid the price for those who believe, so that they may be resurrected one time into an eternal body that is no longer subject to sin, corruption, or death. This is a free gift that is impossible to earn. It cannot be any other way, because humans cannot overcome the sinful nature and its curse of death no matter how much they desire or try. Even the seemingly most saintly people are rotten dirty sinners on the inside full of unclean thoughts and motives. But our sins get imputed to Jesus who suffered the penalty for us, while Jesus’ righteousness gets imputed to us, if we believe. At the rapture/resurrection, believers will be forever separated from the sinful nature and death. They will have everlasting continuous fellowship with God and each other through ages upon ages which may be endless new creation epochs ad infinitum.
This reminds me of the Janeway vs Archon – Star Trek Voyager episode.
