Another point of scrutiny here is Saudis signing the Abraham Accords by year end according to Trump. Except it signed a Defense Pact with Pakistan in September 2025, a country that does not recognize the State of Israel. And it’s asking for defense pact with US. Are they in the line of sight for Israel via UAE which it borders?
A point to contemplate was made by Trump’s Ambassador to Turkey, Tom Barrack in September 2025:
“There is no Middle East. There’s tribes, villages. Nation states were created by the British & the French in 1916… But the Middle East doesn’t work that way. It starts with individual, family, village, then tribe, community, religion. Lastly, Nation”.
Is this the ultimate direction for the MidEast? How strong is Saudi Arabia with all its tribal disputes? How much tribal fragmentation is hidden from view within these MidEast constitutional/absolute monarchies?
