Something is Terribly Wrong With the “Pervasive” Artist Gary Baseman
If the name Gary Baseman doesn’t ring a bell, there’s still a good chance you’ve been exposed to his work. Throughout the 1990s, his art was all but ubiquitous, with his illustrations appearing in magazines such as The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and The Wall Street Journal, and he also created advertisements for brands such as AT&T, Gatorade, and Nike.

By the end of the 90s, Baseman sought to expand beyond commercial illustration and to enter the fine arts. In 1999, Baseman exhibited “Dumb Luck and Other Paintings About Lack of Control” at the Mendenhall Gallery in Los Angeles, where he displayed works that were darker and more edgy than the family-friendly illustrations he was known for.
As years went by, Baseman’s exhibitions went on to contain bizarre sexual themes (often involving figures looking like young girls), references to satanism and secret societies, and monarch mind control. In other words, he became fully imbued with the weirdness of the occult elite.

Mainstream art publications say that Baseman’s works “investigate history, heritage, and the human condition.” However, as usual, there is more to his work than what is asceptically described by journalists paid to promote them.
While art is subjective and pictures aren’t. Like other artists featured on this site, Baseman maintains an Instagram account full of bizarre, concerning, and highly symbolic pictures. And most of them point towards him being fully immersed in a culture that is weirdly obsessed with secret societies and sexualizing children. Bad combo.
Here’s a look at the strange world of Gary Baseman.
PERVasive Art
Gary Baseman is a “pervasive” artist whose whimsical, pop-surrealist works feature a large cast of recurring characters. Using these cartoonish creations with cute names, Baseman creates artworks that sometimes allude to dark and terrible realities.

This painting contains many recurrent themes found in Baseman’s works. It features a “Wild Girl,” whose proportions are strongly reminiscent of a child, being either controlled, subdued, sexualized, or all of the above, by “mischievous” beings. The painting’s title makes it even grosser, as “grazing” is defined as “the act of animals (like cattle or sheep) feeding on growing grass or vegetation.”
Considering what we’ll later see, it is not difficult to interpret this painting as the satanic elite preying on children, mind-controlling them and abusing them. This interpretation is further solidified by the fact that dozens of other Baseman paintings focus on this very theme.

Notice the eyes of the girl above. She looks out of it, as if she were drugged, hypnotized, possessed, or something of the sort. As we’ll see, the theme of Monarch mind control – which aims to cause slaves to dissociate using trauma – is often implied through visual cues.

Even Christmas-themed works focus on the concepts of abusing children and taking them away.

The sexualization of children is a recurring theme in Baseman’s art, and it is often expressed through his most recognizable character: Toby.
Creepy Toby

On Baseman’s official website, Toby is described in these creepy terms:
Toby is your shadow. Your mirror. Your best friend in the whole wide world. He can smell your fear. He is addicted to your insecurity. He knows how to push your buttons. He is no Teacher’s Pet. He loves you. He truly loves you.
Toby doesn’t love you. His highly symbolic attire indicates that he represents the occult elite. First, there’s a giant eyeball on his shirt – representing the All-Seeing Eye. Second, he is wearing a fez, a red hat with a very specific meaning: It is the trademark hat of the Shriners, a Masonic Order.

By combining an eyeball and the fez on Toby’s attire, he made him a representative of the occult elite. Weirdly enough, Baseman’s Instagram account contains an absurd amount of pictures of Toby with random children from all across the world.

The picture above becomes even more off-putting when one (unfortunately) encounters this next picture.

As seen in previous articles, Abramovic is an unavoidable figure standing at the intersection of dark occultism and the entertainment world. Like Abramovic, Baseman loves to integrate occult and ritualistic elements in his work.
Occult Elite

Baseman is remarkably similar to other artists on this site: While heavily praised by media, his work features a strange combination of child abuse and sexualization with occult rituals and symbolism. These specific things are often seen together in the art world because they’re all part of the occult elite’s twisted “culture”.

In Conclusion
Official art sources love to interpret artworks, as seen above, using generic and borderline meaningless terms such as “bittersweetness of life” and “study of the human condition.” It is almost as if they’re purposely trying to avoid describing what is staring them right in the face: Abuse. Pedophilia. Satanism. Mind control. Although using these words is a no-no in the art world, expressing them through imagery is definitely a yes-yes. This site has been documenting dozens of artists who focus on these same exact themes.
Gary Baseman’s art is fully in line with the occult elite’s culture and lifestyle that combines love of dark occultism with an unhealthy obsession with children. If these concepts were only expressed through art, one could say “whatever” and move on. However, many of these artists also love to post on social media hundreds of pictures involving real children in strange situations, combined with real pictures involving occultism. This toxic combination is sadly all too prevalent, and it leads us to a very important assessment: There’s something terribly wrong in the art world.
