Tyler Robinson, Alleged Killer of Charlie Kirk

It appears the FBI has tracked down their man in the killing of Charlie Kirk. Apparently, according to sources, Robinson’s own father drove him to the police station after Tyler confessed to killing Charlie Kirk to his father. Interestingly enough, Tyler’s father has been with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department in Utah for 27 years. His mother works for the Intermountain Support Coordination Services.

First, I cannot imagine being this guy’s parents. Imagine what they must be going through. I’m sure they did not purposefully raise their son to be a cold-blooded killer, but that’s what they have now. Was it college that turned him into a Leftwing assassin? He clearly thought, like many on the Left, that Charlie Kirk was filled with “hatred” for those who disagreed with him. This couldn’t be further from the truth, but when a person reaches the stage where the only “right” thing left to do is to murder someone, it seems they are well beyond being reasoned with.

Tyler Robinson may become the poster boy for Romans 1. Is he beyond salvation? It almost seems so unless I completely misunderstand the ramifications of Romans 1. In that chapter, Paul tells us that there is a point at which people and a specific society are given over to their own inner desires so that they could fulfill their own dark wishes. It happened during Noah’s day. It happened during Lot’s day and it is happening today.

In Romans 1, Paul essentially tells us three things that God does to the person when He turns them over to themselves. First, God gives them over to their unclean hearts (v24). In doing so, they will follow the ungodly and lustful desires of their hearts with abandon to enter into relationships that God never ordained, but Satan did. God sears their conscience so that they are no longer bothered.

Second, God gives them over to vile passions (v26). These passions take many forms and often find fulfillment in homosexual or lesbian relationships as well as other sexual sins.

Third, God gives them over to a debased mind (v28). A debased mind is a mind that is “morally reprehensible, depraved, worthless, despicable” according to GotQuestions.org. This brings them to the point where they “with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them” (vv29-32). They cannot make a good moral decision at that point even if they wanted to do so. They have fallen away from that ability to do so.

This is the definition of many on the Left today. They care nothing for any known and accepted biblical morality. They fully reject it and, I’ve just discovered, apparently there are groups of AntiFa who focus on eliminating Christians. They are true soldiers of Satan, doing his bidding without even knowing it, all for what they consider to be the greater “good” when they will be free of any moral dictates that remind them of the biblical God. This is what Satan aspires to occur as well.

These people are so desperate to remove God and any thought of Him from their minds and society that they actually believe exterminating Christians will do the trick. This is what they live for and what they are involved in.

It seems then that, while the Left will lionize and hold Tyler Robinson up as a tremendous foot soldier and ultimately martyr (if he gets and receives the death penalty), the reality is that there are many more Tyler Robinsons running around in society today who are ready to step up and do what they believe needs to be done.

The tragedy with all of this is that we have lost the ability to agree to disagree. It is rare if not impossible for reasoned debate to take place. The Left cannot handle it. In fact, they really see no reason for it, so convinced are they that they are correct and everyone else is wrong.

A man can give birth? A man born as a man can become a woman? The Left yells a hearty “YES!” to both. This is in spite of any amount of actual fact-based science that exists to the contrary. The Left doesn’t care. Why? Because in their world, the only thing that matters is how a person feels about themselves and their particular worldview.

The reason they become so enraged at facts and actual science is simply due to the fact that it bothers deeply how they feel. It pricks at their conscience, further confusing and enraging them.

I’ve watched many debates between Charlie Kirk and Leftists. It simply never goes well for the Leftist. Why? Because they have zero facts at their disposal. They rely solely on how they feel about something to inform them and that becomes their truth.

So conservatives and conservative Christians are constantly rubbing salt in their wound, not because we are mean or antagonistic, but because we present facts. These facts cannot be disputed and they begin to attack the mindset and stability of those on the Left.

Charlie Kirk was not a hater or a racist. He was not a misogynist or hater of LGBTQ people. He didn’t get riled up, angry or detestable during debates. He was sincere, kind and firm in his beliefs but he allowed people to have their opinions. No one forced anyone to enter into a debate with Charlie Kirk. That was done willfully on the part of those coming to him to debate.

I never saw Charlie Kirk unable to respond to someone with facts. Granted, I didn’t watch every debate he entered into but the reality is that of all the ones I did watch, he was a gentleman, polite, gave ample time to the debater to offer their reasons for why they believed something. What I consistently heard though were reasons given by debaters that were not fact-based. They were always feelings-based. Since that’s what they felt, they believed it to be the truth and when Kirk presented facts that destroyed their personal beliefs, they would often storm away in anger.

I can imagine that Charlie Kirk made many enemies throughout his career as leader of Turning Point USA. But this is what society faces today.

Let me just end this with this thought. Charlie Kirk was a proponent of forgiveness. He essentially said that we should always forgive our enemies, because it drives them crazy (my paraphrase).

I believe if Charlie had survived this heinous attack, he would offer forgiveness to Tyler Robinson. Why? Because Charlie Kirk was a Christian and that’s what Christians do. At least, that is what Christians are supposed to do.

Not not one of us knows what will happen during any particular day. We can plan, yes, but that is no guarantee of anything. Charlie did not wake up that day thinking “Oh, today I may die.” To him, it was just another day of debating people who did not have the facts on their side. It ended in tragedy for him and his family, while many on the Left celebrate his murder with unchained glee.

The other day, I was driving my dump truck for the grading company for which I work. I was unloading another load of dirt. Everything seemed the same to me, nothing out of the ordinary.

As I was raising the bed, something happened that I had zero control over. I had released the PTO switch, pulled up the tailgate release and then began raising the bed like I always did. I watched through the rearview side mirrors to see the dirt start to exit the bed onto the ground as usual. However, this time, I heard a large metallic crack and noticed the frame at the back start to bend upward. I virtually had zero time to react because the next thing I heard was the large steel hydraulic cylinder that hoists the bed up, cracking off at the base.

When the other guys and my immediate boss arrived to the scene, they all said to a man, there was nothing I could have done. I was not on slanted ground. The ground was flat. Both tires were on level ground. What apparently caused the problem was that dirt got stuck up in to the top of the bed more on one side than the other. Even if I had reacted immediately to the start of the leaning and put the dump bed lever down to lower the bed, it would have still gone over because of the weight of the dirt and gravity. This particular dump truck when filled weighs roughly 70,000 pounds.

I barely had enough time to hold onto the steering wheel with both hands and just go with the truck. Fortunately, I was seat belted in. Once everything stopped moving, I called my boss and began assessing the damage. The first question everyone asked me was, “are you okay?”

I didn’t wake up that day thinking I was going to have a major problem with the dump truck I was tasked with driving. It was just another day of hauling and dumping dirt.

Charlie Kirk got up that fateful day with no thought of what would actually occur, thank goodness. I’m quite sure he was killed instantly. We can get ourselves all worked up over this tragic situation and we can begin to start looking over our shoulders wondering if we’ll be next. We can also become inordinately angry at the Left, which makes us no better than they.

The truth is God is still very much in control of all of our lives. As far as God is concerned, this was not an accident that took God by surprise where Charlie was concerned (or where my dump truck was concerned). He knew it was coming and in essence, He either allowed or designed it to occur. Does this mean that the shooter is somehow less guilty? Not at all, just as Judas and so many others in Scripture were moved or allowed by God to do something heinous but were completely culpable for their actions.

I’m not going to fear. I may find myself more aware of my circumstances and situations when out and about, but in reality, I don’t know all things. I cannot predict from one minute to the next what will occur. I do not know the day or time of my death. No one does. We cannot live as though death is in the next moment. That would paralyze us and doesn’t bring any glory to God.

Charlie Kirk is with his Lord and Savior. My heart and prayers goes out to his widow and children, as well as other family members and friends. The Left has made a huge mistake. While they have already begun praising Tyler Robinson’s “bravery,” it is clear that he committed the most cowardly and fascist act of all; murdering an unarmed person who had no chance of protecting himself all because people like Tyler Robinson have no ability to verbally respond to people like Charlie Kirk with reason, intelligence and facts. Everything they do comes from their emotions.

Feelings are meant to follow us, not lead us, but in today’s society, too many simply go with what they feel about certain things and codify their feelings with actions. Tragedies like Charlie Kirk’s murder will not stop. They will continue, but Christians have the responsibility to live, not cower. We need to continue talking and sharing, not be silenced by anger or the hateful rhetoric that comes only from those who cannot compose a reasoned response for why they believe as they believe.

Ben Shapiro has stated he will carry the blood-stained microphone that Charlie Kirk held in his death, as he continues where Charlie left off. Truth cannot be silenced in spite of those who have been turned over to themselves by God so that they believe lies and lies alone. Pray for Ben and everyone else who continues to offer light to those living in darkness. Pray also that God might bend Ben Shapiro to Him in salvation.
