Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte had said on rmcsport.bfmtv.com: “It was a pretty heavy fall at 1100 this morning while skiing off piste. He was wearing a helmet. He was conscious after his fall.

His family were reportedly with him at the hospital, as Schumacher had been skiing with his 14-year-old son when the accident occurred.

His return to the sport with Mercedes after a spell in retirement was less successful. He managed just one podium finish in his three years with the team and a best end-of-season placing of eighth in 2011.

Its to late to say he will die but when he originally had his “accident” it was reported he was fine had minor injuries and was wearing a helmet. Now all of a sudden it seems his head injury is so bad he has to be operated on. which is a complete turn around.
