“We Got Him” - Navy Seals Strike Tehran, Rescue F-15 Pilot Under Fire (Video)
The most successful military rescue operation in US history just took place saving the lives of two downed F15 pilots deep within enemy territory. Navy SEAL Team 6 successfully rescued a downed U.S. Air Force weapons systems officer (WSO) in a high-stakes mission. The operation, which President Trump announced with the phrase ”WE GOT HIM!”, took place in a remote mountainous region of southwestern Iran rather than Tehran itself.
The mission was primarily executed by Navy SEAL Team 6, supported by hundreds of troops and dozens of aircraft. To keep Iranian convoys and search parties away, U.S. attack aircraft (including A-10s) provided fire support and dropped bombs near the extraction site. The CIA reportedly conducted a deception campaign to misdirect Iranian search efforts. During the extraction, two MC-130 transport aircraft became stuck at a temporary airstrip and were intentionally destroyed by U.S. forces to prevent them from falling into Iranian hands. The WSO was recovered alive but seriously injured and was transported to Kuwait for medical treatment. There were no U.S. fatalities during the mission. Both the pilot and the WSO ejected. The pilot was recovered within approximately six hours on Friday. The WSO, a high-ranking colonel, remained missing behind enemy lines for nearly 48 hours. The rescue occurred in the rugged Zagros Mountains in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad or Isfahan provinces.
