The United States Navy is not currently engaged in a full-scale war or invasion of Venezuela. However, the U.S. military, including the Navy, has carried out a series of kinetic airstrikes on vessels in the Caribbean and Pacific since September 2025, which the U.S. claims were part of a counter-narcotics operation targeting “narco-terrorist” organizations allegedly linked to the Venezuelan government.As of early November 2025, the U.S. has conducted more than a dozen strikes on alleged drug smuggling boats, primarily in international waters off the Venezuelan coast. These strikes have reportedly killed dozens of people. The U.S. Navy is actively involved in lethal military operations near Venezuela’s coast, which the Venezuelan government views as an act of war.
