BSP Stages Protest Against Amit Shah’s Remarks On Ambedkar

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organized a protest in Chittoor, condemning Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on Dr. B R Ambedkar and demanding his removal from office and a public apology.

• Protest at Ambedkar Statue

Chittoor – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): As part of a nationwide movement called by BSP Chief Mayawati, the Bahujan Samaj Party’s Chittoor District Committee held a protest on Tuesday at the statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar in the district headquarters. The protest condemned Amit Shah’s controversial comments on Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution and a symbol of hope for marginalized communities.

• Demands by leaders

Zonal Coordinator Penumuru Gurrappa (Retired Judge) and State General Secretary T Vijaya Kumar (Former Director of Social Welfare) were the chief guests at the event. They criticized Shah’s remarks, stating that they insult the legacy of Ambedkar and have triggered widespread outrage across the country.

“The BJP government must immediately remove Amit Shah from his post and issue an apology to the nation,” they demanded, warning of intensified protests if their demands are ignored. The leaders vowed not to remain silent until the BJP government is ousted.

A formal complaint was submitted by the protesters to the Chittoor Collector for forwarding to the President of India.

Leaders and members who participated included District President P Surendrababu, District In-charge Brahmanpalli Lokanatham, Kanipakam Nageswara Rao, Maniaram Nagaraju (Senior Journalist), and District General Secretary Y Nagore, Constituency leaders Valathur Uday Kumar (Chittoor), Dhanraj (Chittoor Convener), Ramesh Babu (GD Nellore In-charge), Haribabu (Assembly President), Bhanu Chandra (GD Nellore Convener), and Sendil Kumar (General Secretary), Mandal Presidents Satyavel (Vedurukuppam), Vinayaka (Penumuru), Chandrababu (Thavanampalli), and Kalidas (Puthalapattu), Mandal leaders Kalvakunta Mohan (Airala Secretary), Narasimhulu, Kiran, and Murali (Airala).

BSP senior leaders Krishna, former District President Ashok, and Bahujan leaders Parthasarathi, Vedurukuppam Nageswara Rao also lent their support to the protest.

• BSP’s warning to BJP

The BSP leaders emphasized that Shah’s comments undermine the values of democracy and secularism. They reiterated that their protests would intensify nationwide if action is not taken, calling for collective resistance against divisive rhetoric.

This protest highlights the rising discontent against political remarks that challenge the legacy of key national figures like Dr. B R Ambedkar.
