“Walk Worthy Of The Lord”: Record Turnout Marks Grand Start Of VBS In Proddatur

Proddatur – Andhra Pradesh: A spiritually vibrant start marked the inauguration of the Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Bethany Prayer House in Proddatur on Monday, as 777 students participated on the very first day—nearly double last year’s turnout—reflecting growing enthusiasm for faith-based learning among children and youth.

• Record turnout surpasses expectations

The VBS commenced prayerfully at 7:30 am, drawing 777 students from KG to PG levels on its opening day. According to God’s Servant KM Ephraim, the turnout has significantly exceeded expectations compared to last year’s attendance of around 400 students.

Bethany Church anticipates participation to rise further, with projections reaching up to 1,600 students by the conclusion of the programme.

• Structured learning with engaging activities

To cater to the increasing number of participants, 70 trained teachers have been deployed. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed according to age groups and includes Bible lessons, action songs, puppet shows and handicraft activities.

“These interactive teaching methods are designed to deepen understanding and help students retain spiritual lessons for the long term,” said KM Ephraim.

• Theme focus: Spiritual growth and character building

“This year’s central theme, ‘Walk Worthy of the Lord,’ reflects the programme’s emphasis on nurturing children in a God-fearing way. It aims to instill values that encourage personal spiritual growth and enable participants to positively impact their communities,” said KM Ephraim.

• Facilities and student welfare measures

Bethany Church has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure student comfort and safety:

Daily breakfast and snacks provided
Transportation arranged across surrounding areas and villages despite fuel challenges
Dedicated volunteers ensuring safe commute and supervision

These measures aim to create a secure and accessible environment for all attendees.

• Infrastructure expansion to meet demand

In response to the growing participation, a new Sunday School facility was recently inaugurated to accommodate the large number of students. The expansion reflects the Church’s commitment to sustaining and scaling the programme.

• Community support and volunteer efforts

KM Ephraim praised God and acknowledged the collective effort behind the VBS program, highlighting the support of church members, volunteers, and organisers. He credited the smooth conduct of the programme to their cooperation and what he described as “God’s grace.”

With a strong start and rising participation, the VBS at Bethany Prayer House is emerging as a significant spiritual and community-building initiative in Proddatur, combining faith, education, and structured engagement for the younger generation.
