GENERAL OUTLOOK

A nearly stationary front will meander across our region through Saturday providing a focus for above normal chances of mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be below normal. Afternoon and evening shower and thunderstorm chances return to seasonal normals to start next week. Temperatures rise back to normal as well.

Showers and thunderstorms likely this afternoon and evening. Flooding may occur where storms repeatedly pass over areas. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop across the area this afternoon and continue into the evening. The main threats will be from cloud-to-ground lightning and torrential rainfall. Excessive rainfall could occur in isolated locations, resulting in flash flooding of streams and urban areas.
