A group of Congressional Democrats has introduced legislation that would allocate around $3 billion per year in federal funds to help recent migrants become more self-sufficient, arguing it will take the pressure off states and cities struggling to cope with a crush of new arrivals.
As we have learned from watching the welfare state destroy the black family and turn our cities into cesspools, Democrats help people to become more self-sufficient by paying them not to be self-sufficient.
Massachusetts Senator Edward J. Markey is leading the Destination Reception Assistance Act, which would supplement local efforts in providing help navigating the immigration system while also assisting migrants with housing and other necessities.
This federal assistance is required because jurisdictions controlled by leftists like New York City and Markey’s Massachusetts face bankruptcy as a result of the gargantuan sums of money bestowed upon the illegal aliens. The federal government can waste any amount of money because it can always print more — at least, until Democrats have reduced our savings to complete worthlessness.
