In Décines-Charpieu, the private Muslim high school, Al-Kindi, is facing an administrative procedure that could lead to the cancellation of its association contracts with the State.

An inspection report, whose details have been reported by a source close to the investigation, shines the light on serious acts, ranging from pedagogical failures to violations of the values of the Republic.

In fact, the inspections reveal confusion between the statutes under contract and those outside the contract. Financial resources allocated to the executive under contract were reportedly used for activities outside the contract. Similarly, teachers paid for their work under the contract, were also reportedly employed during times not covered by this plan.

The pedagogical obligations, such as regulatory schedules for certain subjects, were reportedly not respected, which also constitutes a breach of the rules imposed by the State.

Books that advocate violent jihad

Yet more worrisome are works available at the establishment, notably at the Center of Information and Documentation (CDI), reportedly justifying violent jihad, advocating violence against homosexual persons, and conveying a backward vision of the role of women. Certain books also relate to the duties of women towards their spouses within the Muslim religion, in contradiction with the principles of equality.

The internal regulations of the establishment are also singled out for demanding that girls wear specific outfits- loose fitting and long clothing, a prohibition on makeup, piercings, or tight fitting clothing- without any similar mention concerning boys. A teacher in charge of the subject “The culture of Islam” was reportedly active on a YouTube channel where he supported imams convicted or expelled for supporting terrorism, by disseminating speeches contrary to the values of the Republic.

These are the elements that led to the Prefecture of Rhône to initiate an adversarial proceeding. A meeting before the Academic Consultation Commission, scheduled for December 12, should allow the leadership of the establishment to explain these facts.
