The Basij are the paramilitary forces (often voluntary) that serve to enforce Sharia law and civil compliance on the streets. They are a key impediment to protestors coming outside and taking their country back. Iranian activist Nariman Gharib: The IDF and US forces delivered precision strikes, surgically dismantling Basij checkpoints in the heart of Tehran’s streets, the very thugs who beat, arrest, and shoot protesters every single night.
