Profiles in Academic DEI: Jason Arday
The DEIification of academia has had an inevitable effect on the integrity of scholarship. The latest example is named Jason Arday.
Via NewsFire:
Arday, who became the youngest black professor in Cambridge’s history at age 37, was once celebrated across Britain’s liberal establishment as a remarkable success story.
According to legend,
Diagnosed with autism as a child, he reportedly did not speak until age 11 and only learned to read and write at 18. He completed his doctorate at 30 while simultaneously undergoing surgery for a brain tumor, then rapidly ascended through academia to reach one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
The liberal establishment loved him:
Arday’s appointment came shortly after Black Lives Matter protests swept Britain, when Cambridge urgently sought greater “diversity” in its faculty. A university dean effusively praised him on BBC television, declaring what he does is “simply the best in the world” as she awarded him a sociology professorship in the education faculty. With dreadlocks reaching to his waist, Arday became what the Daily Telegraph dubbed a “diversity poster boy.”
His academic specialty was the “intersectionality” between education, discrimination, and minority promotion.
If it sounds too good to be true from the moonbat point of view, that’s because it is.
More than one hundred passages in his doctoral thesis appear to have been copied verbatim from another student’s work.
At least he has a creative excuse:
When confronted, Arday attributed the plagiarism to his autism and claimed his learning style relies heavily on mimicry.
If Claudine Gay had thought of that one, she might still be President of Harvard.
Arday’s style also relies heavily on telling outlandish lies that liberal dupes have been eager to believe:
The former sports teacher boasted of completing 30 marathon runs in 35 days despite suffering a bone fracture, while simultaneously running 965 kilometers in six days. He claimed these efforts raised five million pounds for charity, a feat that earned him an honorary doctorate.
No evidence of these charitable donations has ever been produced. … In another bizarre claim, he stated he appeared on the television program “Seven Up,” which was produced two decades before he was born.
Arday qualifies for the Hate Hoax List, having alleged multiple racist incidents:
He claimed a masked man armed with a knife entered his Cambridge office and threatened him, yet never informed police or colleagues that a knife-wielding assailant was roaming university buildings. He also allegedly received bananas and bullet casings by post, incidents he similarly failed to report through proper channels.
Worse yet,
Arday claimed his family received a severed, bloody pig’s head in the mail. He stated London’s Metropolitan Police had traced the purchase to a specific butcher shop. However, when contacted, police categorically denied any knowledge of such an incident.
When his plagiarism first came to light, moonbats rushed to his defense, dismissing the complaints as racially motivated.
Arday himself had preemptively played the race card during a speech to the British Sociological Association earlier this year, claiming right-wing racist activists were targeting prominent black academics with “hyper-precise” searches for errors and plagiarism.
Despite his current setback as all this comes to light, Arday’s academic credentials remain intact. He is still a neurodivergent black guy with dreadlocks. On top of this, he is gifted at BSing, in a field that consists of BS. At least one supporter remains true:
Jason Arday is one of the most talented, honest, decent, intelligent human beings I know.
This is a photo of us together on top of Everest. We climbed Everest 18 times to raise money for blind Palestinian orphans.
