El miércoles, 7 de enero, ICE disparó y mató a una mujer de 37 años que observaba una redada de ICE en la calle 34 y Portland. Un video grabado en la escena muestra al menos a tres agentes de ICE rodeando el vehículo de la víctima, seguido de disparos. Ella murió en la escena.
Esto es una escalada de represión en el área de Minneapolis-St. Paul mientras ICE continúa con sus redadas. La Secretaria de Seguridad Nacional de EE. UU., Kristi Noem, viajó a MSP el 6 de enero, llevando una presencia masiva. Y hoy, 7 de enero, el Comandante de la Patrulla Fronteriza Greg Bovino estuvo presente en las Ciudades Gemelas. ICE y la ocupación en MSP le están mostrando al país que no retrocederán en 2026. ICE también anunció que enviaría 2000 agentes adicionales a Minnesota.
