This West Sacramento case is at times typical in my paranormal investigations. This is a case that actually needs to be dealt with by a professional psychiatrist. When I received this call, I did not turn away Cynthia (the client). I was able to provide her with temporary help to cope with her issues. I provided her with a placebo effect, and I will explain this later. I was also fortunate that Cynthia listened to me and will seek help from a psychiatrist. Below is the information I received from my first call from Cynthia.

PARANORMAL HOTLINE CALL / 7/19/2025
TIME: 11:22 AM PACIFIC
CALLER: Cynthia
CASE NUMBER: 51Z0Y230B5505
LOCATION: West Sacramento, CA
THE SITUATION: Cynthia discovered a drawn face in the mirror. She has no explanation on who drew the face on the mirror. Cynthia lives near Jefferson Street in West Sacramento and on Jefferson Street she saw a full body shadow crossing the street. Cynthia says she is bipolar and feels this is the reason why she is being attacked by the entities in her home. Cynthia hears voices in her head telling her to do this or to do that. The haunting has been happening for 7 years. One of the entities is extremely mean to Cynthia. The entity will sit on her chest. Cynthia says there are about 20 entities in her home and sometimes they will move the furniture around. Cynthia actually claims that one of the entities who is nice to her, paid her Metro bill for 3 months. I asked Cynthia on how this entity was able to have money to pay for her bill for 3 months. Cynthia had no answer for me. One of the entities takes and hides her medicine. Another entity wants to destroy everything in the house. Sometime the entities will go into Cynthia’s body. Cynthia was at work and had to get off the phone and will call me back.
END OF REPORT

In Cythia’s report there were many red flags. When she mentions “hearing voices” this falls back on her mental disability of being bipolar. Some individuals experience auditory hallucinations, or “hearing voices,” due to various factors, including mental health conditions, neurological issues, and even sleep disturbances or stress. While often associated with schizophrenia, hearing voices is not exclusive to this condition and can occur in other mental health challenges like bipolar disorder or PTSD, as well as due to neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease or dementia. Stress, grief, sleep deprivation, and even certain medications can also trigger auditory hallucinations. I talked with Cynthia many times after her first contact phone call to me. I learned that she has a sleeping disorder. On many nights she tells me that her mind runs wild and she can’t sleep. Sometimes a dark figure will stand over her bed and watch her, causing her to stay awake. I have been on 2500 investigations and only one investigation that I had in Galt, CA, in which a so-called psychic was trying to tell me that 50 entities were in the client’s bathroom. My other psychics scoffed at the idea. Why would 50 ghosts hang out in the bathroom? When Cynthia told me that there were 20 ghosts and demons in her home, I had to step back and wonder how she came up with this number. This was another red flag in her claims of having a haunting in her home.

I am not a doctor, but I do know that with mental health conditions, hearing voices is a common symptom in schizophrenia, where individuals may perceive voices that aren’t actually present. Cynthia says she is bipolar. With the bipolar disorder you may have auditory hallucinations. This can happen during manic or depressive episodes with the bipolar disorder. Cynthia had a horrible childhood and was sexually abused by her uncle. With an incident like this, she may have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD can be caused by traumatic experiences that can lead to auditory hallucinations, sometimes including voices related to the trauma. Cynthia also mentions that sometimes she gets depressed. With severe depression can be accompanied by auditory hallucinations. The ghosts and demons that Cynthia sees inside her home can be visual hallucinations. I sent two of my investigators to her home and they captured no evidence, nothing in their photographs, no EVPs, nothing. It was time for the placebo effect.

To help Cynthia I provided the placebo effect. I had a long talk with her about seeing a psychiatrist. She agreed that she would contact Kaiser and make an appointment. This was good news. Instead of telling Cynthia that she has mental problems, I listened to her story of being haunted by ghosts and demons. I did not talk down to her, nor was I condescending. I provided Cythia with information about how to do a self-cleansing of her home using a crucifix and holy water. I also suggested that she should get a full submersion baptism (a basic form of exorcism). Cynthia followed my instructions. With her follow-up call, she was very pleased with my placebo effect and said most of the entities left her house. Cynthia says the voices in her head have simmered down. The placebo effect seemed to work.

The placebo effect is a phenomenon where a person experiences a positive or negative change in their condition after receiving a sham treatment, like a sugar pill or saline injection, even though it has no inherent therapeutic value. This improvement is attributed to the patient’s belief in the treatment and their expectations of feeling better, rather than any direct physiological effect of the substance itself.

Instead of giving Cynthia a “pill”, I empowered her with the belief that she could self-cleanse her own home, with the help of angels. That Cynthia and the angels, that she calls upon can actually banish the ghosts and demons of her home. Cynthia did mention that she asked the angels to keep around the entities that watch over her and especially keep the ghost who paid her metro bill for 3 months. I must admit, if I had a ghost that paid my Verizon bill or even my Comcast bill, I would want that ghost to stay around. Especially if I can get a ghost to pay my mortgage payments. That is something Cynthia and I, both agreed on. Cynthia is very happy with the outcome and is making her doctor appointments. CASE CLOSED.
