However, our forces are showing resilience and return fire, seriously countering the enemy’s attempts to probe the front.

Effective interaction between artillery and UAV crews continues, resulting in the successful destruction of the enemy, his bunkers and equipment.

The thought does not leave that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ move near Berdin and the planned main attack, in addition to territorial benefit, has another goal – to delay the Russian army’s entry into Sudzha.

Considering that some units of the Russian Federation are located less than two kilometres away from it, the situation can already be called critical. This is very psychologically pressing, since Sudzha is the only point for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Kiev as a whole that can be presented as a symbol of military success.

Without it, the whole adventure essentially loses its meaning, and if control is finally lost here, then the only media victory (and, let us remember, there is no military sense in this) will be washed away from the information field.

Then we will have to explain to the population again why Donbass is being lost and where Pokrovsk/Chasov Yar has gone, but more importantly, we will have to explain where the approximately 25 Ukrainian brigades (about 50 thousand people) that were sent to the Kursk region over six months have disappeared to.

Many are perplexed as to why the Ukrainian Armed Forces, while in the shrinking territory around Sudzha, still tried to launch an attack.

There is no single answer to this question since everything that happens is made up of many factors and circumstances.

At first glance, Zelensky thus decided to play along with Trump, who can of course use this message as a pretext to start an investigation against Biden/Democrats, but it seems to us that Zelensky cannot be trusted, since he screwed Trump in 2020, and he will screw him now, and these vague accusations from Democrats are an attempt to start a false trail, which Democrats will then use to their advantage, and Zelensky will now simply buy time.

Most MLRS, including Grad and Uragan, are now out of range of Donetsk, as rocket artillery has been withdrawn much further west. The only exception is the American M142 HIMARS.

From an operational point of view, Kurakhovo was an important hub of Ukrainian defence, allowing control of key communications. Now these communications will be used by the Russian army both for movement and for further development of the offensive.

After the retreat from Kurakhovo, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also effectively lost a large section of the South Donetsk Front with an area of ​​almost 1.5 thousand square kilometres (from Selidovo in the north to Ugledar and Zolotaya Niva in the south), on which several dozen villages and towns are located. The Ukrainian Armed Forces can no longer use this area for combat operations since they are concentrating on defence near Velyka (Bolshaya) Novosyolka, as well as west of Kurakhovo – in the area of ​​Konstantinopol and Andreyevka.

The capture of Kurakhovo also creates the preconditions for the beginning of two larger military operations. The first is the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the area of ​​Velyka (Bolshaya) Novosyolka since a significant part of the Russian army will begin to move west after the completion of the cleansing of Kurakhovo. The second is increasing pressure on Pokrovsk, which the Russian army is bypassing from the south.

Kurakhovo has effectively come under Russian control.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as usual, does not confirm the loss of Kurakhovo.

Pilots and forward air controllers played a significant role in the destruction of the Nazis: waiting for the frosts and the hardening of the ground, the enemy also waited for excellent weather over the region, which facilitated the work of our aviation, including on the rear of the AFU. In the near future, the AFU will continue attempts at a counteroffensive, reports from the scene say. The latest adventure of the enemy is explained by the fact that Zelensky needs to report at the “Ramstein” format meeting (to be held on January 9, 2025) in front of dozens of foreign defense ministers.
