Note the progress reduction of the snout,
(Fig 1) which is probably due to neotony, the retention of cute juvenile traits into adulthood and the reproductive = infant rearing phase.

Eoarctos vorax
(Wang et al. 2023, Early Oligocene) nests basal a portion of the Carnivora in the LRT. It is known from an almost perfectly preserved skeleton of a large male.
