It's Official - I'm Writing a New Gothic Novel

Here’s the official announcement that I’m writing a new novel. It’s another Gothic tale – this time a ghost story set at Christmas. One of the characters also appears in my first published novel: Erosion, but you won’t need to have read that in order to enjoy this story. I started writing the new book a couple of months ago and am now up to chapter 8.

I wanted to get at least a quarter of the book finished before announcing it on my blog, just in case I lost momentum. However, I’m pleased with how it’s going and hope to have the first draft finished before this Yuletide. Of course I’m using my laptop to write rather than a notebook, but I do still keep an old-fashioned notebook and pen with me to jot down ideas, so the photo at the top isn’t completely irrelevant.

I’ve also taken the decision to blog a bit less frequently until the end of August to give me more time to finish my novel as well as get out and enjoy the summer – weather permitting. Instead of writing 5-6 posts per week, I’ll be sharing stuff on A Bad Witch’s Blog about 3 times per week, as well as keeping my events page updated, so you can find out what talks and workshops are happening.
