OTL: Could Ravens Trade for More EDGE Help?

David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh OTL

Ravens training camp is in full swing now, with fans flocking to 1 Winning Drive to see this year’s Baltimore squad preparing for the upcoming campaign. Amongst those fans were a few legends of the area, the first being former Maryland Men’s Basketball star Aaron Wiggins:

Believe it or not, Wiggins is entering year four of his NBA career with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and I’m curious if he picked up any tips on taking the next step in his career from Hall of Fame OL Jonathan Ogden, who was also in attendance:

Whether Ogden gave advice to Wiggins or not, Baltimore’s current O-Line could use some pointers from a stalwart of Ravens lore, especially with some uncertainty across the front lines. With Andrew Vorhees showing up thus far, though, it’s less of a question than it was entering camp.

On the flip side, the biggest question remaining for me is the pass rush. With David Ojabo and Odafe Oweh being so heavily relied upon to take a leap in 2024, I do worry. Bleacher Report has an idea on how to fix that issue:

From the standpoint of price alone, I’d love this move; Reddick is a proven disrupter that I’d hoped Baltimore would bring in previously. Now, he seems to be a bit of a locker room problem, and while he can certainly impact the game positively, I wonder if he’s worth the risk. What are your thoughts?

Focusing on Tuesday’s practice itself, though, the offense seemed to pick things up a bit with more consistent presence from QB Lamar Jackson:

According to Quarterbacks Coach Tee Martin, having Jackson around brings spirits up for everyone, and I believe him:

But while Jackson returned, a few of his weapons were out of practice:

The absences of Walker and Harty feel less concerning, but seeing Rashod Bateman out again after the camp he’s supposedly had is. Just like Baltimore seems to be relying heavily on Ojabo and Oweh, Bateman is expected to be a key cog of the offense.

That said, the expectation is that if all else fails, the Ravens should have one of the best rushing attacks in the league. With Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson alone, GM Eric DeCosta has combined two of the NFL’s best runners:

If those numbers don’t excite you, hear what Akbar Gbajabiamila of “Good Morning Football” had to say Tuesday:

I’m ready to see this offense in action!
