Ravens Stock Report Week 15

The Ravens came off their bye week and did what they should have done, convincingly beating the Giants in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicated. Perhaps as important, they were able to rest guys in the fourth quarter to allow them to be as fresh as possible for the team’s biggest game of the year this Saturday hosting the Steelers.

Here is your Week 15 Ravens Stock Report courtesy of LifeMed Institute. Men, boost your energy and restore your body to its peak performance with testosterone therapy from LifeMed.

Stock Up

Lamar Jackson

In the last edition of this report, Lamar Jackson was in the stock down for the way he played against Philly.  While the Giants defense is certainly not the Eagles, they do have a good front line, and Lamar dominated them yesterday. His overall numbers are MVP worthy, and this is the best version of Lamar that we have ever seen.  He won’t win MVP (he was never going to) even if he should, but that doesn’t diminish what he’s done this season.

Roger Rosengarten

Roger Rosengarten is continuing his ascent.  According to Gordon McGuiness, he has allowed just two pressures in the last 141 pass blocking snaps, which covers four games. He is becoming a force on the right side and its happening at the right time.

Ar’Darius Washington

Is there an easier player on the team to root for than Ar’Darius Washington? A UDFA that has battled a lot of injuries, he has unexpectedly stepped in to solidify the back end of the defense after Marcus Williams‘ precipitous dropoff in play.  Since they inserted him into the lineup, the pass defense has improved and it has also allowed Kyle Hamilton to play in different areas, including over the top to help with the deep ball.  This has been a very good adjustment by Zach Orr.

Michael Pierce

It was great having Michael Pierce back in the lineup. His impact was immediately noticeable.  He is a tough man to move, and he does a good job getting pressure up the middle.  Keeping him on the field is critical for the rest of the season.

Rest

The late bye week hurt this team in that they were getting tired and beat up heading into it. However, the late bye week is also a blessing moving forward. They got healthy as late as possible and are now more rested. Also, having the Giants right after it allowed the players to get even more rest late in the game. They are about as healthy and rested as you possibly could be at this point in the season, and just in time for the Steelers game on Saturday.

Zach Orr

Zach Orr has taken some heat this year, but he has made some personnel adjustments and the defense has been one of the best in the league the last month weeks or so. With the offense playing at such a high level, the team just needs the defense to be average, and if they can do that, the Ravens will be a tough out.

Nate Wiggins

Nate Wiggins is playing starter minutes now and he is producing very well. His cover skills are exceptional, and I think they are going to keep trusting him more and more against the opponents’ best receivers.

Rashod Bateman

I’ve been saying it all year: Jackson needs to look for Rashod Bateman more. On Sunday, he did just that, and Bateman responded with his first career multi-touchdown day. When opponents focus on Mark Andrews & Zay Flowers, Jackson needs to be able to rely on Bateman. If he can remain consistent from here on out, it makes this offense that much tougher to slow down.

Stock Down

Trenton Simpson

After starting for most of the year, Trenton Simpson has started to lose snaps recently and only had five in New York.  Malik Harrison and Chris Board are getting the playing time now. Obviously there is something they don’t like about how Simpson is playing and/or practicing. He was being graded out as average-ish player in his first season but clearly that wasn’t good enough.

Awareness

We have harped on the lack of ball skills by Brandon Stephens all year and again Sunday, we saw multiple penalties due to lack of awareness and ball skills. At this point, its likely not changing but it definitely could hurt us in a big moment. His reputation precedes him and no official is going to give him the benefit of the doubt if it looks like he even remotely interferes. We have to hope that the “let them play” mindset of the postseason helps him just a bit in those games.

Penalties

Easily the worst part of Sunday’s game were the 12 penalties for over 110 yards. Poor technique, lack of awareness and poor discipline led to these penalties. You just aren’t going to consistently beat good teams making these mistakes over and over.

Keaton Mitchell

Keaton Mitchell may be the second most talented back on the team but he is definitely 4th on the depth chart at this point. The knee injury was devastating, so he is still working his way back. It would be great to see him back out there but I think its more likely we don’t see him suit up on game day anymore.
