Stocks Rise Against Pittsburgh for a Change

Ravens Stock Report Week 17

On Saturday, the Ravens did to the Steelers what the Steelers have been doing to the Ravens.  They used Pittsburgh mistakes to turn around the game and they ran away with it. In a series where the games are usually decided by a single score, the Ravens beat down their rivals in a must-win game, both to keep division hopes alive and for their own mental outlook. Now, its off to Houston to play a critical game on Christmas Day.

Here is your Week 16 Ravens Stock Report courtesy of LifeMed Institute. Men, boost your energy and restore your body to its peak performance with testosterone therapy from LifeMed.

Stock Up

Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry hadn’t done much in recent weeks and I think some of it could have been the team holding him back to save his legs for January, and some of it could have also been them being a little more vanilla in the run game. Dan Orlovsky pointed out that the Ravens were very successful in their run game after using motion. This is a new wrinkle to the run game and it threw the Steelers off. Obviously, this is the time of year you acquired Henry for, and hopefully he can keep up the big games.

David Ojabo

David Ojabo has been a healthy scratch for much of the second half of the season. He was active on Saturday, and he repaid the team with three pressures. He was very active and was in the backfield often. Great day for him and hopefully it is something he can build off of.

Zay Flowers

Zay Flowers talked earlier in the week about how he wasn’t worried about how Pittsburgh would play him, and he backed up his talk. He made the game-sealing catch in the 4th quarter, yes, but he made other big plays and was tough to bring down all day.

Roger Rosengarten

The Ravens threw a lot at T.J. Watt but Roger Rosengarten, who continues to perform at a high level, played him very well. Watt has ruined games for the Ravens, making some huge plays in big moments, but he was a non-factor this week.  Rosengarten becoming a topflight RT, which he has been the last month, is a big boost to this offense.

Kyle Hamilton

The best safety in the league was arguably the best player on the field on Saturday. Kyle Hamilton was all over the place and whether it was coverage, run stopping or tackling in general, he was excellent. His 90 PFF grade reflects how good of a day he had.

Kyle Van Noy

Kyle Van Noy had 1.5 sacks and another TFL.  He has been that ageless wonder this year, but he had gone six of the last seven games without a sack (and did miss time due to an injury) but now he has at least one in three straight games.

Justin Tucker

Justin Tucker has made 11 straight kicks since the bye, including a 51-yarder Saturday. The kicks are straighter and he’s not even flirting with the left side right now.

Stock Down

Malik Harrison’s Coverage

The Steelers took advantage of Malik Harrison on several occasions, including on a TD pass. Harrison is a solid tackler, and he is good against the run, but he is a liability in the pass game.

Desmond King

Desmond King provided a spark in the punt return game for a few weeks, including early on Saturday, but two fumbles? That has to have the Ravens worried. That needs to get cleaned up, as you can’t have those mistakes in the playoffs.

Ball Security

The Ravens were fortunate to recover all three of their fumbles on Saturday, but it highlights how they need to be stronger with the football. King put it on the ground twice, and Lamar Jackson was strip sacked from behind by Alex Highsmith. We saw a video of Todd Monken running in during a ball security drill during practice last week. It is clear the Ravens are harping on this in practice and the players are still being too loose with the ball. This has to continue to be a point of emphasis.

Jordan Stout

Jordan Stout is doing well handling some of the kickoff duties, and wrangling poor snaps on FG attempts, but he is making too many mistakes doing the actual job he is being paid to do.  He had another awful punt in this game (14 yards) and that is yet another thing you just can’t have in these crucial games. There are too many times where his bad punts are putting the team in bad spots. This shouldn’t be something else the team has to worry about.
