Board Buzz: Has Sirianni Already Surpassed John Harbaugh?

Ravens forum board buzz Sirianni

Ravens Board Buzz is Brought to you by LifeMed Institute  Invest in Yourself!

Now that the offseason has officially begun, you won’t find a better place to discuss your Baltimore Ravens than the RSR Ravens forum. If you’re sick of the toxicity of social media – trolls, dealing with the horrible opinions of people who cheer for the wrong team, feeds inundated with political BS and porn bots – be sure to sign up and join our well-moderated forum filled with nothing but (well, mostly) well-informed and friendly Ravens fans.

Let’s see what’s poppin’ on the RSR Message Board this week.

The Philadelphia Eagles Are Who the Baltimore Ravens ‘Think’ They Are

The legendary Excellector (56K posts!) starts this topic as such:

They play defense the way the Ravens ‘think’ they do.
They have the pass rush that the Ravens ‘think’ they have.
They have the Offensive Line that the Ravens ‘think’ they have.
They have the WR room that the Ravens ‘think’ they have.
They have a QB who can play within the offense and doesn’t have to play perfect for them to win. We have a QB who fans act like they ‘want’ to play within the offense, the moment he makes a mistake, but he really can’t, because we don’t win if he doesn’t play perfect. And then we wonder why he plays so tight come playoff time.

The similarities and differences between Eric DeCosta and Philly GM Howie Roseman come to the forefront in this discussion, currently up to 11 pages and going strong.

Is Sirianni Better Than Harbechler?

As you can imagine, comparing the Ravens to the Eagles is a popular idea at the moment. In this thread, LaxDad (14K posts) focuses on the head coaches (with a pretty funny nickname for the Bo Schembechler-inspired John, if you ask me.)

So Sirriani ( spelling?) is now coaching in his 2nd Super Bowl with waaaay less time as HC than Mr “Mighty Men”. 2 ultimate trips in 4 yrs. Meanwhile ..we dominate the regular season …and well…don’t really get off the bus for the post season.

Nick doesn’t have better players ..we have the 2x MVP. He doesn’t coach for a “better” organization. They haven’t drafted that much earlier than us since his first year. So..what the deal? Why has he made it to Glory 2x in 4 yrs and Mr Mighy Men has only been once in 17?

This one’s up to 14 pages, with a few members pointing out that Eagles fans wanted Nick fired not too long ago as well, and others pointing at differences in philosophies of hiring coordinators between the two.

AFC is Wide Open Next Season

An optimistic topic from Uli2001 (13K posts) to kick off the offseason.

Now that the season is over, time to start thinking about the next. Bold prediction: the Chiefs will not be back in the AFCCG for the first time in 7 years. Kelce looks done, and Reid is not far behind. Mahomes looks fat and satisfied (I mean literally fat). Their defense is good but is not going to pick up the slack, just like they couldn’t in the SB.

I think there won’t be a KC bump to get over to get to the SB in 2025. The Ravens need to go for it. Bills and Bengals are also thinking exactly the same.

This one goes off into a discussion of what the Ravens need to take advantage if the Chiefs are indeed on the decline, with others mentioning the teams that are one good draft or free agency period away from taking the next step themselves. Are you convinced? Will KC, Baltimore, and Buffalo be three of the AFC’s final four yet again 11 months from now? Chime in!

Ravens Team Needs

This one speaks for itself. What do the Ravens need to focus on this offseason?

With free agency set to begin on March 12, it’s impossible to know for certain what our team needs will be by the time the NFL Draft begins on April 24th. Without knowing who we’ll retain (Stanley, Mekari, Ricard and Stephens are our most notable free agents) and venturing a best guess, which three positions do you feel will be our biggest needs come the draft?

I’d love to keep Stanley and Ricard, if possible, but since I’m limited to choosing three, I’ll be choosing CB, OT, OG.

Take a look, see how our members’ lists compare to your own, then sign up and join the discussion on the best Ravens forum around!
