Knee-Jerk Reactions: Ravens Dominate DC in Preseason Finale, 30-3
The Ravens went down to DC and won a preseason Battle of the Beltways, 30-3 over the Commanders.

There’s not a lot to be excited about despite the Ravens winning big. The Backups-to-the-Backups Bowl goes to the purple and black. Jalyn Armour-Davis had a nice pick. Keyon Martin had a pick six on a very instinctive play.
The biggest thing though was that Tyler Loop continued to impress. He made a 61-yard field goal – that’s what I call being ready for the season. You had to be a die hard to watch this not-very-competitive game that didn’t count. There was little drama so now the real drama can start in the form of roster cuts.

Defensively, a dominant display of incredible depth by the Ravens. Turnovers galore was the theme today, with four total and three of them via interceptions. Keyon Martin had the play of the day with his pick 6 and Tyler Loop’s 61-yard field goal was right there with it.
I think this year there will be two or more undrafted players to make the 53-man roster (if you also count Corey Bullock from last year as well). Some tough decisions are ahead.

Move along. Nothing to see here.
The preseason couldn’t have gone much better for the Ravens. Lamar Jackson looks fine on the sideline. Not many significant injuries. Tyler Loop bangs a 60+ yard field goal.
Cooper Rush looks more acclimated to the offense already. Even Devin Leary showed improvement, looking more decisive as the game went along. The run game is deep. The secondary is deep. There’s just not much to say about this week.
Now we will see the difficult process of cutting down one of the deeper Ravens rosters in memory. None of the bubble players looked particularly bad, but some did stand out, for example Keyon Martin breaking on a late throw by Sam Hartman to bag himself a pick six. Fub Peebles continues to show penetration and pressure.
Week 1 against Buffalo is going to be a highlight for the NFL season and I’m sure they’re happy about that.

The Ravens finish the preseason with a perfect 3-0 record, but leave with a lot of work to do before Tuesday’s roster deadline. Eric DeCosta and company find themselves with more than 53 players worthy of making this roster. Baltimore had a plethora of players entering Saturday on the bubble. Jay Higgins, Rebuen Lowery, Keyon Martin, Chandler Martin, and Rasheen Ali put on quite the performance this afternoon, making the Ravens roster decisions even harder than originally expected.
It’s hard to imagine the Ravens carrying seven corners entering the 2025 regular season, but the preseason play of Lowery, Martin, and Armour-Davis makes it hard to move on from any of them. Lowery’s versatility to be able to play safety gives him the upper hand on the remaining defensive backs in the room, and seems to leave last year’s UDFA, Beau Brade, on the outside looking in. The Ravens could look to keep four running backs, especially with Keaton Mitchell looking for his first full season back from his knee injury in 2023.
During the post-game interview, Head Coach John Harbaugh highlighted Ali’s ability on special teams as well as his quality in the run game, backing the talks of Ali’s chances of making the 53-man roster.
Rosters need to be cut down to 53 by 4 pm on Tuesday, and it’ll be interesting to see where the Ravens prioritize their depth as they look to finally make that Super Bowl run in 2025.
