OTL: Lamar Jackson Laughs Off Adam Schefter’s Injury Speculation
With less than a week left for the Ravens to get their roster together, we have some positions to discuss.
However, before all of that, we have to address the elephant in the room wearing number 8:
#Ravens coach John Harbaugh: “Prayers do get answered.”
He says Lamar Jackson is fine after getting stepped on. He got an X-ray to be sure.

A sigh of relief for everyone involved. Now, for some reason, Adam Schefter tried to make the injury seem more than it is, and perhaps insinuated that the Ravens were lying?
Allaying the Flock’s fears though? None other than the man himself.

We’ll still be a little nervous until we see #8 back on the field, but all signs are pointing up at the moment.
Alright, now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about a young player making waves with the Ravens coaches:
“@_jhigg’s a real instinctive player… His resume speaks for itself.” DC Orr pic.twitter.com/mVsYhFB2Aj

On a stacked roster like the Ravens, it is always hard to make an impact as a rookie. That road gets even narrower when we talk about an undrafted rookie making the team. However, talent will slip, and the Ravens are saying all the right things about Jay Higgins. Roquan Smith’s running mate slot is still up for grabs, and considering that Trenton Simpson hasn’t impressed, and there are questions about Teddye Buchanan’s physical limitations (he’s struggled to shed blocks in preseason so far as well), Higgins’ push is nothing to scoff at.
Something to keep an eye on both in the preseason finale and as final cuts are made.
Finally, I want to give props to a player who the team highlighted yesterday. I feel like he flies under the radar with the general NFL fan.
When you know, you know. And @ZayFlowers knows

This might sound controversial to fans who don’t follow the Ravens closely, but Zay Flowers is a true number one receiver. The dude is just a human joystick, allowing Todd Monken to get creative with his offense and providing a safety blanket for Lamar. It is disappointing he never got that redemption in the playoffs due to injury, but I am so happy he is on the Ravens. No, I don’t care if he’s small by WR standards. He is a number one receiver. Please go argue with a wall if you believe otherwise.
