OTL: Welcome Back, JJ!
With two weeks of preseason football behind us, the 53-man roster race is quickly heating up. HC John Harbaugh already noted that, other than the QBs, Saturday’s snaps will go to those on the bubble – whether for the Ravens or the NFL.
As far as his QBs in Saturday’s preseason finale, John Harbaugh said it will likely be the same as the second preseason game where Cooper Rush played the entire first half and Devin Leary played the second half pic.twitter.com/ks28q3pHBq

Years past have shown a shift in teams’ approach to Preseason Week 3, with most preserving starters ahead of the regular season. Before I dive a bit deeper into some of the spots up for grabs, I want to point you all toward Jason Woolbert’s RSR article on Tuesday, which highlights some of the questions GM Eric DeCosta and Harbaugh should be thinking about over the coming weeks:
As Woolbert eludes to, the O-Line has a few spots up for grabs, which Harbaugh spoke to after Tuesday’s practice:
Harbaugh did mention that they still need to decide on reserve OL. He said it probably will be hard to keep 10 OL. But they need to decide on 9th. https://t.co/wkfywIA3o6

John Harbaugh revealed that the Ravens starting five offensive lineman are set, meaning Baltimore’s starting group is officially
LT: Ronnie Stanley
LG: Andrew Vorhees
C: Tyler Linderbaum
RG: Daniel Faalele

It’s important to give Daniel Faalele his props – He’s worked hard this offseason and we saw the benefits of that against Dallas. That said, Dallas frankly looked inept, so… Take that with a grain of salt.
On the opposite side, Andrew Vorhees has looked consistently solid throughout the offseason, and he’s been rewarded accordingly. Cole Jackson, RSR’s O-Line guru, breaks down Vorhees’ play here:
Amid all the anxiety at RG, Andrew Vorhees has put together an outstanding preseason at LG, proving to at one guard spot is locked down.

Meanwhile, there seem to be more roster spot questions on the defensive side of the ball. Starting with the defensive front, fans continue to look forward to seeing more of rookie DT Aeneas Peebles. The Virginia Tech product is undersized but quick, and Harbaugh noted how valuable that can be as a “change of pace” guy:
John Harbaugh on sixth-round rookie 6-foot-0, 289 DT Aeneas Peebles:
“He flashes. He’s quick. He gives us a change-up of speed pitch. Maybe it’s a fast ball. I mean, he’s quick in there.
“We’ve always had these big, powerful defensive lineman, but when we saw him, we liked… pic.twitter.com/DUs8ipHxyZ

John Harbaugh describes rookie Aeneas Peebles as a change-of-pace defensive tackle. Maybe it’s a fastball, maybe it’s a breaking ball, he says. Whatever it is, Peebles’ twitch is standing out.

It’s awesome to hear a 6th Round Pick is expected to make an impact, but it won’t be easy to force Nnamdi Madubuike and Travis Jones off the field. The latter was the talk of the town on Tuesday, with multiple coaches and players raving about Jones’ potential:
“I expect @bigtrav76 to be the best player on the field when he’s on the field.” Coach Johnson pic.twitter.com/XnleGogBk6
— Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) August 19, 2025
Broderick Washington said that if Travis Jones stays healthy this year, he’ll establish himself as best nose tackle in league.
— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) August 19, 2025
Jones has been an exciting player for a few years now, but with so much attention on Madubuike and the EDGE rushers, he’s got a chance to take off in 2025. Jeff Zrebiec wrote a great piece on Jones here:
Travis Jones is the Ravens’ best player you probably know nothing about. And that’s exactly how he wants it. https://t.co/rsL3pB88gS

Speaking of those off the EDGE, Mike Green is the flavor of the month, and for good reason – He’s been balling out. Once again, Cole Jackson has us covered with a deep dive!
Tale of the Tape: Have the Ravens have Found Their Defensive Playmaker?
But as I’ve written before, Green may have a harder time than people think earning consistent snaps. Alongside Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy, the Ravens have a budding playmaker in Tavius Robinson.
Robinson began making a name for himself as a run-stopping EDGE late last season, and has talked about modeling his game after former Ravens fan favorite Jarret Johnson. Funny enough, he and Johnson got some work and tape in on Tuesday:
Tavius Robinson and Jarret Johnson. Robinson said a video in the linebacker room features Johnson, he wears Johnson’s old number and he tries to play like Johnson.
Ravens coaches say Robinson hasn’t missed a practice, a lift session or a meeting since he was drafted pic.twitter.com/2Yl1KFSWKm

Jarret Johnson is at practice today and working with Tavius Robinson afterwards. John Harbaugh said they’re going to watch film afterwards together.

Love to see it!
Lastly, the NFL news of the day revolved around the Indianapolis Colts, who named QB Daniel Jones their Week 1 starter over Anthony Richardson. While there’s a million things I could say about this, Ramey raises an interesting point.
With the preseason backup QB play being up and down, how would you feel about Baltimore trading for the young, high-potential Richardson?
I could lowkey be convinced into the Ravens trading for Anthony Richardson as a backup after seeing two consecutive weeks of Cooper Rush and Devin Leary football.
