Best Player Prop Bets for Ravens vs. Bills

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Week 1 is officially upon us, as the Ravens head up north to Buffalo where it all came crumbling down last season. A Sunday night victory for the Ravens would be a huge way to start the season, not just from a revenge perspective, but for playoff implications down the line.

For player props, we have a brand-new slate. Last season could not have gone any better as we went 53-29 throughout the season, hitting at a 65% clip. We step into the new season with the same strategy: find value in trends and matchups.

Week 1 doesn’t provide us with much info in that regard as there is always a level of uncertainty. However, as we head into year three under Todd Monken with the same offensive core from a year ago, the Ravens boast a level of continuity that few teams around the league possess. That provides us with great idea of who the Ravens are trying to get the ball to and how they want to move the ball downfield. So, for week 1 our strategy will just be to not overthink it and bet on the guys that brought us so much success last year.

Without further ado, here are the five props I’ll be taking for the highly anticipated Ravens Bills matchup on Sunday Night. Good to be back and let’s get hot!

Rashod Bateman Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)

The Bills secondary is banged up heading into Week 1, and we’ll look to take advantage of that this week. Max Hairston, the Bills first-round pick, and Tre’Davious White are out, leaving rookie sixth-round pick Dorian Strong as projected CB2 opposite Christian Benford.

36.5 yards is a line I’m comfortable with out of Bateman in basically any matchup, but the state of Buffalo’s Cornerback room gives us even more of a reason to trust the 26-year-old former first round pick here. You can all but guarantee Lamar and the Ravens will put Strong to the test early and often throughout this game as you rarely see a 6th round pick thrust into this type of action in his first NFL game.

All offseason reports indicate that Bate has looked effective throughout camp lining up against the likes of Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins, so there’s no reason to think he cant reach this mark Sunday night.

Rashod Bateman 3+ Receptions (-154 FanDuel)

An early trend I’ve picked up on is that the books seem to be disrespecting Bateman. In the season-long prop bet article I wrote two weeks ago, I pointed out that the books are expecting him to regress in just about every receiving category from last season. We haven’t been given one legitimate reason as to why that’s the case, so we are going to take advantage of it here in a line that is surely only expected to go up as the season progresses.

Lamar Jackson Over 233.5 Passing Yards (-114 FanDuel)

We already touched on the Bills cornerback room limping into this matchup, and that plays a huge part in this selection here. The onus will be on Bills Safeties Taylor Rapp and Cole Bishop to lock down the deep third of the field to limit Lamar’s impact through the air. The Bills will likely utilize split safety coverages often, as last season they did so at the fifth highest rate in the league. History indicates Lamar would welcome that challenge, as last year he led the NFL with 9.1 yards per attempt vs split safeties with a 13:1 touchdown/interception ratio (Per NFL Pro). Lamar is poised for another special year as he is in his absolute prime with perhaps the best array of weapons he’s ever had around him. If Josh Allen does his thing on the other side of the ball, Lamar may be put in positions where he has to push the ball down the field. If that’s the case, he should comfortably hit this mark Sunday night.

Derrick Henry Anytime TD (-140 ESPN Bet)

By the end of last season, Derrick Henry’s anytime touchdown prop was listed as low as -350 as he had 16 rushing touchdowns in 18 games played. This season we seem to be starting from scratch all the way back down to -150 with Henry once again being the featured back in the same exact offense as last season. Expectations are understandably sky high for the Ravens rushing attack with Henry leading the charge, and similarly to Bateman above, the odds here will only worsen as the season progresses, so let’s take advantage of the value while we have it here.

Mark Andrews Anytime TD (+200 ESPN Bet)

Mark Andrews finished last season on a tear from a Red Zone efficiency perspective with 11 touchdowns in his last 12 games. Isaiah Likely won’t be suiting up, which leaves Andrews as the Ravens only premier red zone threat. Lamar has found Andrews over the middle consistently throughout camp, indicating last season’s mishap in Buffalo has been put in the past. The only way to really put it away would be to go out and do it against the same team in the same spot where it all went down last year. We know Andrews is hungry to quiet the noise and just play football, so we are banking on the Ravens touchdowns leader all time to do what he does best and get his revenge Sunday Night.
