Chicago Bears fans are fed up with Richard Hightower, special teams
The Cincinnati Bengals got off to a fast start in Week 9 against the Chicago Bears. Charlie Jones took the opening kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, further showing the struggles the Bears have had covering kicks.
A week ago in Baltimore, they allowed an average of 30 yards per kick return. Now, against the Bengals that trend has continued and it’s an alarming one.
Following that touchdown, Bears fans were wondering what the hell was going on and made it clear they are not happy.

Hightower was one of the lone carry overs on the coaching staff under Ben Johnson but the early results haven’t been good. The Week 9 performance early is another example of that. Special teams has been a disaster at times, whether it’s missed kicks, poor punt coverage or even the poor kick return coverage.
That can’t happen when you’re trying to win games and make a push to the post season. They can cost you key games as we are seeing right now.
The thing now is that Hightower has to find a way to make adjustments moving forward. If he can’t, it might be a short stay on Ben Johnson’s staff moving forward.
