Chicago Bears likely to not have top WR’s for Packers game
The Chicago Bears are looking to claim sole possession of the NFC north and potentially seal a playoff spot during Week 16’s very important game against rival Green Bay Packers.
More news: Caleb Williams sends out fiery message to his critics
Quarterback Caleb Williams is coming off arguably one of his best games of his career in last week’s 31-3 rout of the Cleveland Browns. Williams threw for over 200 yards, had a 60 percent completion rate, and threw two touchdown passes to star receiver DJ Moore. Williams was able to do this without his number one receiver in Rome Odunze, who got faced a setback in warmups from his foot injury.
It looks like the Bears are dealing with a major injury crisis going into Saturday’s important game. It’s looking more unlikely that both Odunze and rookie Luther Burden will play this week.
The Chicago Bears will likely be without two top wide receivers on against the Packers

More news: Chicago Bears’ playoff-clinching scenarios for Week 16
The Bears have revealed on X, that both Odunze and Burden did not practice for a second straight day on Wednesday.
Burden was injured during last Sunday’s win over the Browns. The rookie is still dealing with an injured ankle. Ben Johnson considered Burden to be day to day. However, him not practicing is a major concern.
Burden was having a great game last week and has been continuing to grow more chemistry with Caleb Williams. Losing him for this Packers game will be a huge blow to the offense.
Thursday’s practice will be the deciding factor on if Odunze or Burden will play. If one of them practice in full on Thursday, there might be a chance for at least one of them to play.
I feel there’s a better chance of Burden being good to go over Odunze, due to Odunze still dealing with a stress fracture in his foot.
The rest of the Bears’ playmakers are going to need to step up in a big way

With how important Saturday’s game is, the Bears need the rest of their playmakers to step up in a big way. The Bears are going to need the run game to get going fast. D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai are more than capable of making big plays, and they’re gonna need to make life easier for the passing game.
Thankfully, the Bears still have DJ Moore, Colson Loveland, and Cole Kmet as well. The Bears’ offense still has some good pass catchers that can be very dangerous. Olamide Zaccheaus and Devin Duvernay are also going to have to step up in a big way, if Odunze and Burden are unable to go.
Saturday’s game marks one of the most important Bears games in over five years. The Bears will look to take sole possession of first place in the NFC North with a win this week.
