The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had an outstanding season, but failed to make the College Football Playoff a year after competing in the national championship game. The program finished as the first team out and decided to boycott its bowl game as a result. However, just because the team didn’t make the College Football Playoff doesn’t mean the players are going to miss the action. Let’s take a closer look at one player who has taken the hatred of the Miami Hurricanes to the next level.

The Fighting Irish officially have their season concluded, but they are going to be locked into the College Football Playoff. One of the biggest conversations throughout the CFP rankings was the placement of Notre Dame vs. Miami. The teams played against one another in the regular season, which Miami won 27-24 to begin the season, but the Fighting Irish were ranked ahead of them in every CFP rankings. However, during the conference championship weekend, the committee decided to make a switch and place the Hurricanes in front without either team playing that week.
Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love took to his Instagram account and updated his note. On his account, it says “Texas A&M, yk da job” as they prepare to host the Miami Hurricanes in the first-round of the College Football Playoff. Is it a fun little jab for Love to throw? Yeah, but it is harmless at the end of the day. Love is entering the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Fighting Irish are getting prepared for the NCAA Transfer Portal window to open up and begin bolstering their roster.
These two teams will be playing against one another again next season as they are in South Bend on Nov. 7. With major College Football Playoff hopes on the line late in the season, that is going to be a game to circle on the calendar as well.
