Chicago Bears: Bad news on Raiders’ Maxx Crosby trade front
The Chicago Bears need help at defensive end this offseason.

It’s no secret the Bears need to add pass-rushers at defensive end and defensive tackle after recording just 35 sacks during the regular season.
Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby could be a possibility for Chicago. The star pass-rusher had a falling out with the Raiders at the end of the 2025 season, and he’s expected to be traded this offseason.
The five-time Pro Bowl defensive end recorded 10 sacks through 15 games played in 2025 before finishing the campaign on injured reserve. Crosby had knee surgery in January.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Crosby wants to be a part of a winning team. The Bears, who won the NFC North and made it to the Divisional Round in January, would seem to fit that category.

However, Chicago received some bad news on the trade front for Crosby. The Bears weren’t named a “would-be contender” to land the defensive end. Chicago’s NFC North rivals, the Detroit Lions, were named a contender.
“The trade interest in Crosby is incredibly robust,” Fowler wrote. “In fact, I believe more than a dozen teams, possibly up to 20, will at least inquire with levels of serious intent. And there are some natural would-be contenders, including the Bills, Lions, 49ers, Cowboys and Ravens.
“One team that typically doesn’t jump in these high-stakes waters but would be perfect to try: the Buccaneers. This is the type of move that would put Tampa Bay over the top.”
Crosby would be a dynamic defensive end that could help fellow pass-rusher Montez Sweat get to opposing quarterbacks. The Bears should be in the running to try and land Crosby.
It would hurt the Bears to see Crosby line up opposite of Lions star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, who recorded 14.5 sacks in 2025. A duo of Hutchinson and Crosby would be dangerous in a tight division.
