OTL: Could Ravens Still Pair Hendrickson with Another Fierce Edge Rusher?
A week ago, Ravens fans were reeling after a whirlwind of a 12-hour period. For those living under a rock, Baltimore pulled out of a trade for Maxx Crosby, was at the center of a million conspiracy theories, signed Trey Hendrickson, and explained the problem away.
That is, until Crosby spoke to his side of the story on Tuesday (warning, there is strong language in the clip):
Maxx Crosby shares his side of what happened with Baltimore backing out of trading for him with the Raiders pic.twitter.com/PFp4N5w3Ud

Personally, I’ll still err on the side of caution when claiming Baltimore did anything intentionally with this situation. People will continue to argue through the season and beyond, but at the end of the day, Ravens fans are mostly happy with Hendrickson and two firsts.
And, as Brian McFarland notes, there’s money for the Ravens to play with. Given GM Eric DeCosta hoped to pair Crosby with Hendrickson, fans are expecting another splash. Could it in the cards?
The obvious choice, bearing that same context in mind, is to trade for EDGE Jonathan Greenard:
If the Ravens could’ve afforded Trey and Maxx, they can surely afford Trey and Greenard. Go make a move, my bald brother. #RavensFlock

Though not quite as scary a pairing as they’d initially set out to build, this would have me thrilled about HC Jesse Minter’s new pass rush. That said, many fans have turned their attention to the offense, where the WR, TE, and OG positions continue to be major questions. Starting with WRs, there was some movement on Tuesday:
Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source.
Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft.
Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in…

The Eagles are signing former Ravens WR Marquise Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $6.5M, per @Schultz_Report
Brown was speculated to be an option for Baltimore in free agency given his history with the organization and his connection with Lamar Jackson pic.twitter.com/qdiuD7ByAr

While I was rather relieved to see Hollywood exit the market (nothing against him personally, I just didn’t think his skillset filled our needs), the Jaylen Waddle trade could impact Baltimore adversely:
This makes an AJ Brown trade…difficult

The trade market returning such high returns, says a lot about GMs opinions of this draft class IMHO.
I dont think it’s a hot take that this first round is not viewed highly.
I think that’s being reflected and is part of the reason I was okay with trading the Ravens 1st.

I’m all for bringing in AJ Brown at the right price, but I can’t imagine Philly will trade him for anything less than what Denver sent for Waddle. Is that worthwhile given other options out there?

On the Tight End front, the interesting aspect is whether Baltimore will attack the position through free agency or through the NFL Draft. While I expect one young TE to be drafted, could David Njoku be on his way to Charm City?

In my eyes, this makes complete sense, especially on a short-term deal. But again, with a deep TE draft class, is this the best bang for Baltimore’s buck?
Meanwhile, the O-Line was bolstered a bit on Tuesday, with the Ravens signing IOL Danny Pinter from the Colts:
The Ravens and C Danny Pinter have reached agreement on a deal, per source.

Ravens deal with C/G Danny Pinter: 1 year, $2.25 million. Max value is $2.75 million.
— Jeff Zrebiec (@jeffzrebiec) March 17, 2026
While it’s nice to have depth, don’t expect Pinter to be much more than a camp body. In Indy, he was largely a versatile backup:
The #Ravens continue to add guys that have some C ability, but don’t look like starters for me. Moreso bringing in early camp bodies.
Danny Pinter has played 617 snaps at C and 219 snaps at RG in 5 seasons with the Colts. Also 59 “6th OL’ snaps.#RavensFlock

I have no doubt fans will be excited by the prospect of increased competition along the line, but it’d be nice to add another sure thing. With the current state of the IOL free agent pool, it’s more likely this “instant starter” comes from the Draft. But how will that detract from Baltimore’s other needs?

The Mock Drafts continue to come in, and it continues to be fascinating trying to unearth how the Ravens will not only patch holes but confidently fill them.

Fano plays center day one. Simpson, Jones are the guards. Sign one other decent veteran who can challenge Jones.
Maybe you draft a real center in round 3 too? That group is so good it would be hard to pass up.
But Fano is your future LT in 2027. I wouldn’t mind this. #Ravens https://t.co/l443KKMVxS

Regardless of who the Ravens pick at 14, that player needs to step in and make an impact immediately. I want: 1) Edge 2) OL 3) WR 4) DL. I feel like they can walk away with one of the best players in this draft at one of those positions and it’s going to help big time.
— My Opinion (@myopinionz00) March 17, 2026
You could argue Pick 14 and the remaining effective cap space could be used to target a Guard, WR, CB, EDGE, or DT – Will the coming weeks bring any indication as to how assets will be spent?
