What we learned from the Chicago Bears offseason, per The Athletic
The Chicago Bears have been one of the more aggressive teams in free agency thus far. While they have used a significant amount of their available cap space, they have made a mark on the team right now. General manager Ryan Poles has been making moves, and that shows the rest of the sports world what the front office thinks about this team. Let’s take a closer look at what one outlet believes the team has told us this offseason.
The Chicago Bears are in a success-builder mode this offseason

The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue wrote an article discussing what each team revealed with their moves. Chicago has added players during the offseason, but still has some holes. They are paired with the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers in the ‘Success-builder’ tier. Below is what she wrote about the Bears:
“Ben Johnson’s first season as the Bears’ head coach was a blast, and led to an appearance in the divisional round. Sustaining success means not getting lost in the light. So far, good job by the Bears — who made moves to shore up their interior defensive line and add to a secondary that also lost five players, and did what they could to mitigate the damage along an offensive line dealing with injury questions at tackle and the surprise retirement of starting center Drew Dalman. Meat-and-potatoes moves for a team that could have been high on its own supply, but stayed disciplined and self-aware and basically set up its intentions for the draft: Offensive and interior defensive linemen, and pass rushers.”
Chicago also has a bevy of draft picks they can use throughout the first few rounds to continue adding to their roster. The team is in a position to be a legitimate threat for the NFC Championship. It will be intriguing to see how the remainder of the offseason goes for them to make them square some holes.
