Bleacher Report ranks the Chicago White Sox’s lineup 24th in baseball
Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter ranked all 30 MLB lineups ahead of Opening Day. The White Sox are low on the list, but are outside of the bottom five, ranked 24th. Below is what Reuter wrote about Chicago’s lineup:
“With up-and-comers Colson Montgomery, Kyle Teel, Miguel Vargas and Chase Meidroth joined by prolific Japanese League slugger Munetaka Murakami, the White Sox lineup has some intriguing upside. They are probably still a year or two away from this being a fully-former offense, but they should be significantly more fun to watch than in years past.”
Last season, the White Sox finished in the bottom four in average, OBP, OPS, and runs scored. With the additions of Munetaka Murakami, Austin Hays, and Luisangel Acuna, they are expecting to take the next step as a team. To put it in perspective, below are the 21-30 rankings that Reuter listed:

- Minnesota Twins
- Los Angeles Angels
- Chicago White Sox
- Cleveland Guardians
- Miami Marlins
- Tampa Bay Rays

Their lineup depth is being tested as catcher Kyle Teel is dealing with a hamstring injury. However, it is not a long-term injury, so he will return in April. It will be intriguing as Chicago’s young hitters have a lot of upside, so they can climb up the rankings.
