WNBA star Caitlin Clark questions Indiana Fevers’ Sophie Cunningham’s offseason move
Indiana Fever teammates Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham have built one of the most compelling duos in the WNBA.
Clark spearheaded another strong Fever campaign last season, averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds in 13 games. However, a right groin injury cut her season short.
Cunningham also made an immediate impact after joining Indiana. She brought the toughness, leadership and enforcer mentality the team was sorely lacking. Her season ended early as well due to a torn MCL that sidelined her after 30 games.
With both stars working hard during the offseason, they kept fans entertained with some playful online banter.

WNBA: Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark jokes about Sophie Cunningham’s latest Instagram post
Cunningham keeps her followers well updated on social media. This time, she shared a carousel of images giving fans a slice-of-life look at her February.
“Feb, you were a cutie,” she captioned the post.

The photos drew plenty of comments from fans. But one response stood out above the rest.
“Do u play basketball?” Clark wrote, poking fun at the absence of any basketball activity in Cunningham’s snapshots.
To be fair, Cunningham is still working her way back from her surgically repaired knee, making progress each day. The lighthearted exchange speaks to the genuine chemistry the two have built both on and off the court.
The Fever brought Cunningham in specifically to serve as an enforcer for Clark after the 24-year-old faced constant physical attention from defenses.
With Cunningham watching her back, Clark did what she does best. The former Iowa Hawkeyes star was named an All-Star for a second straight season before her injury. Cunningham held her own as well, contributing 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game across 30 games.
Together, they helped coach Stephanie White guide Indiana to a 24-20 record, a Commissioner’s Cup title and a WNBA semifinals appearance.
With both players expected back healthy in 2026, the Fever will look to build on that historic finish and take the next step.
