Chicago Bears announcement leaves fans in tears
One of the most significant developments in the Chicago Bears’ offseason is the departure of veteran wide receiver DJ Moore.
The Maryland Terrapins alum was an integral part of Chicago’s successful 2025 campaign. Moore started all 17 games this past season — as he did in his first two years with the Bears. In 2025, the former first-round pick caught 50 passes for 682 yards and six touchdowns. Moore was one of quarterback Caleb Williams’ most potent weapons.
Moore’s time in Chicago came to an end after the team traded him to the Buffalo Bills in March, along with a 2026 fifth-round pick. In exchange for Moore, the Bears received Buffalo’s second-round pick for the upcoming draft.
Moore is just one of the players the Bears parted with during the offseason. The team also brought in many new faces as they look to build on a memorable 2025 campaign. One of their biggest signings includes safety Coby Bryant, who is coming off a Super Bowl title with the Seattle Seahawks.
Bryant signed with the Bears on a three-year deal worth a staggering $40 million.

The Bears took to social media on Tuesday to announce the jersey numbers of the team’s new players. This development is headlined by Byrant taking Moore’s No. 2 jersey.

More than a few Bears fans could not help but focus on the fact that Bryant is succeeding Moore as the new No. 2 in Chicago. Supporters were left in tears as they struggled to accept Moore’s unexpected departure.

For his part, Moore is now moving on with his new team. He joins a Josh Allen-led offense and is eager to show Bills fans what he’s capable of. There’s no denying, however, that Chicago will miss Moore dearly.
